We stayed there before and after a 4 day jungle trek during the low/wet season. The bungalow was located on the river, right at the edge of the jungle. There are frequently macaque and Thomas's leaf monkeys in the trees and jumping on the roof. You can leave non-food items on the patio (like clothes drying after the jungle), but the host advised us to keep the door locked when we aren't around to keep them from coming in. We specifically chose somewhere without AC to acclimatize to the temperature and humidity, but ventilation inside was good. Porters met us at our taxi to carry the luggage through the village and across the bridge, which was appreciated.

He arranged transportation to/from Bukit Lawang. He also arranged a day trip to the jungle with our guide Jhony whom we recommend as well! The place is by the river and absolutely lovely.

Sam is an attentive and friendly owner and his staff are excellent! Pipie his main guy was always there to chat and help plus he played Rummikub with us at night! The restaurant was very good with a great selection of food with amazing value! They booked out car from Medan and gave a motorbike ride to the hotel which added to our experience! We also booked a jungle trek with Andre and Rama as our guides… they were patient and fun to hang with and the provided a wonderful lunch plus we saw six Orangutans with a mom and baby within 5ft! A definite recommend to our friends !

We really enjoyed our stay at Jungle Inn. The staff is very friendly and the food is excellent! Rooms are clean and comfortable. Best location in Bukit Lawang as it is right at the edge of the forest :) make sure to stay more than one night to also explore the village, do a cooking class and have a massage! We‘d love to come back!

I booked my stay, jungle trek and transfer with The Jungle Guide and it was honestly one of the best experiences of my 4 month trip. The staff were incredibly nice and very good singers. The accommodation was clean and exactly what you want before and after the trek, with a nice balcony and hammock. The trek itself was incredible. Bob is the best guide and helped me safely through the jungle, with much expertise about the wildlife, jungle and local culture. He knew fun facts and of course the amazing viewings of the animals such as Orang-utans, and views. Could have wished for a better guide! The accommodation in the jungle was basic but had all necessities, and a nice stream to cool off, and the food was so good.

Thank you, Batu Mandi! We came here with horrible food poisoning and they absolutely did everything to help us to recover. They gave us traditional medicine and brought us everything we needed to our room. Room was basic, but very nice and comfortable. Their garden is next to the river, it's very quiet and peaceful.

Very comfortable room, european hotel standards. Comfortable bed, spacious room, nice views. The gym and swimming pool (long enough to swim, maybe 15-20m length) are great, I couldn't think of a better plan to stay active before next day's travel. The breakfast is a buffet, mostly Indonesian food. Although not stellar, it's definitely good enough.

Harper Wahid Hasyim Medan by ASTON er staðsett í Medan, 3,8 km frá Medan-lestarstöðinni og býður upp á útsýni yfir borgina. Friendly staff at reception. Clean rooms with comfortable beds. Luckily the hotel room window was double glazing, therefore the noise of the prayer was limited, so we could have a good night rest. Breakfast buffet was delicious, every day the chef cooked different meals. Staff at breakfast very friendly too. I would really recommend this hotel!
