Surrounded by beautiful gardens, Shamrock Lodge Hotel is a family-run hotel located in the very centre of Ireland, just 5 minutes’ walk from the restaurants, bars, and nightlife of Athlone town... We had an unusual experience during our stay here. We had a lovely room, very large and comfortable, and all the reception people we dealt with were very helpful. In the morning after our first night, my husband had a kidney stone attack, and we had to go to the hospital. It was a Sunday and the receptionist told us we needed to go to Portiuncula Hospital and she called a taxi. After that, he was admitted to hospital, and I was on my own for the next night and I had to add on one more night, which was in a smaller room, but equally as comfortable. I appreciated being able to have dinner at the hotel for the two nights on my own, and the meals were very good. I had the breakfast on one morning, and it was very good, with lots of variety. I also appreciated the kindness and understanding of the reception staff. On the morning I left, because I had to wait for a taxi, the receptionist had tea and a biscuit brought to me. It was a memorable stay, perhaps for the wrong reasons, but I will always remember the staff at the Shamrock Lodge Hotel.

On the banks of the River Shannon, Radisson Blu Hotel, Athlone is situated in the town centre, overlooking the historic Athlone Castle. The hotel has a modern leisure club and stylish restaurant. Nice modern hotel... very friendly staff... good loacation,, delicious food in restaurant.. good place, if you want visit Athlone...

In the heart of Mullingar town, this hotel with a bar and restaurant offers a home-from-home environment. Local attractions include Belvedere House and Gardens, golf and Mullingar Greyhound Stadium. Most friendliest and helpful staff I have met in a long time. Was not my normal overnight stay as I was to have a medical appointment the next day in a local hospital. Even with one or two abnormal demands I was met with a smiley and frendly face, from the reception to the carvery and the bar. Will deffo be back with the other half for a leasure visit.

This luxurious AA 4-star hotel is a haven of peace and quiet, on the beautiful shores of Lough Ree, by Athlone Golf Course. Both the offered breakfast was great and dinner in the pub was great

In Athlone's lively centre, this 4-star Sheraton Hotel has a 20-metre pool, a luxury spa, free internet and free parking. The staff was very helpful. We were upgraded to a larger room!

Overlooking 10 acres of town park, Annebrook House Hotel is located in the centre of Mullingar. The hotel had excellent size rooms, was very clean,had old world charm and the staff were friendly, approachable and nothing was a bother to them - very quick to find solutions to any problems!! I’d also like to mention that the staff in Berty’s Bar were also excellent and it was a pleasure to go there for dinner and/or drinks!!

Nestled in Monksland, a residential suburb of Athlone town, The Athlone Springs Hotel is less than a 6-minute drive from Athlone town centre. Really good location and a beautiful hotel. Good value for money with extremely friendly staff and great food at the restaurant. They catered for all our needs and more. Thanks to all staff who made our stay amazing!
