My family and I had such a wonderful time at Coastline Mirissa. It is a gorgeous hotel, staff are so accommodating, the food is delicious there and the views are amazing. The owners were really lovely too. My children loved seeing the monkeys and feeding the fish everyday and there is a lift up and down to the hotel which makes for a fun adventure for everyone. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved the location and the fact that we could see the river gushing right outside our rooms. The fact that we were located right in the centre of this beautiful rainforest. The family that runs the space is extremely warm, kind, friendly and made us feel like family. Great organization. Very prompt.

For the breakfast you get fresh fruits, smoothie, eggs on your preffered way, tea, coffee. We prolonged the stay and would come back in the future.

Mirissa is not so interesting place, but just in a god location to discover this part of Sri Lanka. By tuktuk you can go to Matara or to the beach. There are whale and dolphin watching possibilities. It is a very nice plca to have an actice rest for a good price.

Nice view, water is perfect but very salty. The beach is not too large and there should be more shadow available. I saw most of european turists get severely burnt to red skin. In this case aloe vera cream does a good job for skin if applied 2-3 times a day. Some restaurants already have turists prices, others have good price. The waves are big. It is good for surfing. Whale watching needs a lot of luck, I was not satisfied with it. The local people are nice but they have to learn not to litter if they want more turists. We also visited Unawatuna beach which was even superior (cleaner, no bad smell, lower prices, smaller waves, free beds if you consume). If you want to buy something then also the closest city Matara worth a visit. For 25 LKR a bus will take you there and can buy almost anything you need on real price, no turist price.
