We had the most beautiful experience at Leel's cottage. Leel and his family are wonderful, kind and genuine people who make your stay unforgettable. The room is beautifully decorated, you'll be amazed by Leel's craftsmanship. We enjoyed just sitting on the porch with the swinging chair and enjoying nature. If tranquility is what you are looking for, then this place is right for you. Leel is also a very knowledgeable, experienced and passionate safari guide. We had the best experience exploring the national park away from the beaten tracks. He pointed out so many animals which might have gone undiscovered for the untrained eye. Another highlight is the homemade food! Do not miss out on dinner! Leel's wife is a beautician, so you can get professional treatment there as well. I was very happy with my manicure. We left with a heavy heart as it felt we made wonderful friends.

Excellent clay house that feels very luxurious for a very reasonable price. Food is also good and the associated safari with Subhash is also 10/10. Very recommendable!

Set in Udawalawe, 7 km from Udawalawe National Park, Ali Weta Safari Resort offers accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. This place was absolutely amazing! The location couldn’t have been better. Right by the Safari entrance, and within minutes of arriving, we saw an elephant just across the road. It was such a cool experience. The facilities were top-notch and really well maintained. The pool was actually the perfect temperature, which is rare for hotels since they’re usually too cold. There’s also a restaurant on-site with a great selection of food. We highly recommend the Kothu! Plus, there’s a convenience store right next door in case you need any extra supplies. The rooms were beautiful with modern bathrooms, great hot water, and a lovely balcony view where we got to watch the sunset. What really made our stay special was the staff. The manager went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, treating us like VIPs. The rest of the staff was just as helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this place if you’re visiting the area. We’d love to come back!

Situated in Udawalawe, 12 km from Udawalawe National Park, Wild Lake Side features accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a restaurant. We liked everything. The small houses are placed in the beautiful garden of Mila’s, where you are staying in between cinnamon and pepper plants, which is awesome. The host is super nice and organized a safari for the four of us. Everything is super clean! Thanks a lot for having us!

The place was really nice and our hosts so welcoming. Upon arrival we were met with the most beautiful dinner! The room was clean and comfortable and we loved the pool. They organised a drive for a safari at very short notice and we had a great day out. Would highly recommend it to anyone coming for a safari or to just visit the area.

Set in Udawalawe, 11 km from Udawalawe National Park, Jungle Paradise offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, an outdoor swimming pool and a garden. We were in the apartment and took value in the very large bathroom and deck area, and the fact you had room to move in between the different areas of the apartment. We didn't need to leave the complex other than for safari trips and elephant sanctuary, all of which were pre-arranged via Whatsapp with the owner, which made life really easy for us. It was good to not have to plan or think about too much whilst we were there. The pool is super clean. The best thing - the safari. Lasa, our driver, was the best. He is really passionate about showing us a good time and getting right up and personal with the animals. These will be memories we will cherish forever. Thank you.

Offering a restaurant, Hotel Gayan's provides free WiFi access in its public areas. The Udawalawa National Park entrance is just a minute drive away. Gayan and his mother are wonderful. We had a great experience! Very clean and cozy. Gayan also offers Safari tours. I highly recommend this place. Thanks again :)

Birds Paradise Jungle Place features accommodation in Udawalawe. The property is non-smoking and is situated 10 km from Udawalawe National Park. Guests at the hotel can enjoy an Asian breakfast. Our stay was completely authentic. Unlike the usual tourist guesthouses, we lived here with locals. Chinta and Suranga introduced us to their world and culture, and did everything they could to make our stay special. I would recommend this place and this wonderful family to anyone who wants to experience Sri Lanka in all its authenticity.
