The only drawback was the distance from the main town. The lovely view, proximity to a hiking trail and UNESCO site made up for that.

Raiatea sur Mer has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, set in Opoa. Beyond expectations. Quiet, spacious and very comfortable bungalow. Direct access to the water, where swim, snorkeling and kayaking just await! Everything is well thought, both functional and "solid". The hosts are very generous with their food, boating, and hospitality in general, including planning trips and such. You need a vehicle (or can rent theirs). I had rented a scooter in town and enjoyed this particular corner of the island.

La Maison Du Voyage is a recently renovated holiday home in Tevaitoa, where guests can makes the most of its pool with a view, open-air bath and garden. Breakfast was amazing. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming.

Fare Oviri Lodge is a recently renovated apartment in Opoa, where guests can make the most of its private beach area and garden. Breakfast was very good. It was nice to have a range of homemade jams to choose from. The location is perfect for resting or being active - a variety of activities are available at the site. The hosts are excellent - very friendly and helpful.
