Situated next to the Umeälven River in central Umeå, this hotel is 800 metres from Umeå Central Station. It offers free WiFi, a lobby lounge, as well as free access to a fitness centre and sauna. Worked very well with staff and they were very helpful

We have planned long awaited Northern Lights trip at Kiruna as this year there are lots of activities on sun and have greater chances and views of Northern lights. We have decided to do road trip from Södertälje to Kiruna but as the distance is approximately 1300 kms which would requires 15 to 16 hours and we decided to have break journey with nice overnight stay in hotel and then I found this. Great hotel just off the E4 but was surprisingly quiet given its beside a very busy road. It has ample parking spaces. We had a warm welcome by Kristofer the owner. Check in was quick and simple by girl at the reception. Kristofer is very very helpful in showing our room, the free of charge coffee and tea machines and the water stations etc. The family room itself was very good. Breakfast was nice and mostly fresh. Situated in the heart of Umeå, Elite Hotel Mimer faces the Twin Towns Park and the main commercial pedestrian street. Guests have free WiFi along with free access to a sauna and fitness centre. As normal, our stay at the Elite Mimer was wonderful! Their included breakfast buffet was the star as always, but we also enjoy the sauna, closeness to the city center, comfortable rooms, and friendliness of the staff. Great place to stay.

U&me hotel is located in the center of Umeå, just 50 meters from the Umeälv. The contemporary furnished rooms all have a fantastic view of the city or the river. Very centrally located in Umeå and easy enough to reach with luggage by foot from the railway station. I did not immediately understand that I could in self-service create a room access card from my booking at the check-in machines, but a mobile phone with the help hotline preconfigured was available at the counter and a patient service person available at the other end if the call even at the late time of 11pm. The room was on the 9th floor and the view over the city built around the frozen river was fantastic. I also liked the functional style of the room. I am myself very much into making sourdough bread, thus the offered self-made sourdough buns and breads immediately got my sympathy at the breakfast buffet. I was amazed that I was even allowed to pack a lunch bag from the buffet at no extra charge.

Excellent breakfast in an idyllic hotel. Very Swedish in the best possible way. The place itself is small, right next to the train station, but there was no noise or trouble from the tracks beside it. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was wonderful, freshly baked breakfast rolls, fruits, veggies, and local goodies – even reindeer!

Marvellous, unique hotel in the heart of the city. The stylish interior design is meticuously crafted in a historic building. The staff was extemely friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was exceptional in a nice, covered courtyard.

Hotell Gamla Fängelset is a converted prison from 1861 located in central Umeå and offers free WiFi and breakfast. All rooms have windows and shared bathroom facilities. very clean and quiet accomodation, parking, very close to the city center. very friendly staff with a good sence of humor
