Great hotel with lovely views of the volcano. Thermal pools were a lot of fun for the kids and who doesn’t love a swim up bar! Staff were really helpful and kind. Good breakfast with omelette bar, pancakes, lots of fresh fruit etc. Dinners we had there also decent and value for money overall, givens everywhere is expensive. Very helpful front desk organising tours and transfers and laundry etc.
This luxury Virtuoso resort offers spectacular views of the Arenal volcano and valley. It features free WiFi throughout, 28 hot spring pools, a spa and a fitness centre.

Amazing views, very big rooms with whirlpool bathtub, incredible hot spring pools and super fast slide.
Our 8yo loved the game room, darts, pool table, and had fun with Esteban and Gustavo!
We loved Club Rio, feeding the wildcats and river tubing.
The staff is lovely.
Featuring hot spring baths, sauna, massages services, luxuryspa treatments and 5 swimming pools, Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa is 15 minutes’ drive from the Arenal Volcano National Park.

Highly recommended for anyone who wants to visit Costa Rica and enjoy one of the best spa’s ever. The whole experience is amazing and worth of planning the entire trip just to stay here for 2-3days.

The hotel is lovely, very lush with planting, and well cared for grounds. We were amazed to see the pools emptied and cleaned daily.
The hot spring pools are the star attraction (as they should be), and my 10 year old spent every moment he could in them. They didn't get too busy whilst we were there.
The room was basic but clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. The housekeeping staff work very hard.
We particularly liked the volcano viewpoint cafe and swimming pool. The snacks and drinks were very good up there.
The breakfast buffet was simple but nice. Get your waffle or omlette order in 1st...as there is one lovely man making them and it can take a little while.
The dinner menu wasn't to my taste but we managed to find things to eat.
All in all, a hotel with amazing pools and grounds. My sons pick for the trip and it was exactly what he wanted 😁

This hotel exceeded our expectations.
We loved being outside of La Fortuna as it felt much more relaxed. Being surrounded by nature, with a stunning view of the volcano and with hummingbirds in the trees outside the front door, was really special.
The small resort felt intimate and friendly.
We ate in the restaurant and the food was fantastic. We also ate in the 2 local restaurants, which were also phenomenal.
Beautiful green grounds. Very cute, comfortable, wooden lodge on stilts with nice balcony in the greenery. Pools were nice, but did not feel authentic. The restaurant was very expensive. The resort felt somewhat ‘americanised’ while we would have enjoyed a more authentic experience.
Beautiful rooms with incredible views, if you want to feel surrounded by nature, it’s perfect. It’s across the road from the hanging bridges. If you don’t want a resort feel it’s much more natural and peaceful
A very well kept large spa resort three miles or so outside La Fortuna. Wonderful staff, an excellent restaurant, comfortable rooms, easy access and parking. Extensive and well kept gardens, a very good Volcano observatory and numerous hot pools
Rooms, Staff was excellent and I wish for the rate they would include a meals and/or drinks too. It a resort and all inclusive types options would be great. Foods were not marked on any breakfast meals and i ate pork which is against our culture. Horrible in that service.
Beautiful and luxury resort, very comfortable, with many facilities. It is next to a river and you can observe animals, birds. Very well maintained. Breakfast was excellent.
