Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesDinner food was a bit patchy. Ravioli quantity was too much. Tender coconut dessert was not so tasty - did not have an authentic flavour of coconut and it was not so sweet. Otherwise food was excellent.
Staff members were very polite and attentive. Particularly Ariel was super communicative and helpful.

Al Maha is the perfect location if you’re looking for a luxurious peaceful retreat with spectacular views of the desert. The staff were always on hand to help and very friendly, Anise (horse instructor) was fabulous and made the trip for me, thank you Anise! The room and pool was amazing, you had everything you needed in the room and plenty of space, beautifully decorated, the pool was a great size and perfect to cool down in. The food was very tasty and fresh, they had a good selection and alot of new things to try. The camel sunset ride was an excellent experience and would recommend to anyone who’s staying, the guides are really friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend Al Maha to everyone! Thank you for an amazing stay, we will be back and longer next time round.

Czech RepublicWe should found this resort few years ago😂
How can you just describe in few words when you found your SOUL PLACE? This place is just amazing, beautiful beduin suite with full privacy and absolutely georgous view. But what is making this place different than any other places are people..staff. The atmoshere they were able to create is incredible. You literally feel like you are at home with your own family and friends. I feel I have to mention all of them who made our staying so great that we will be definitely back with our kids. It all starts with Mr. Tom, GM, who welcome you personally immediately after you step into the building. Our staying was whole time surrounded by Mr. Soshan, funny, nice and highly professional front desk magician who always answered all off our questions. Also Mr. Michael who is your guide through all the activities in the desert has high knowledges about everything around you. Last not least is the restaurant and everybody who works there. Everything in the kitchen is under the control of THE CHEF Mr. Piotr. Beginning the huge variety of the breakfast through the whole until the late hours he will the ANYTHING to make you and your family happy. We had a great chicken terrine with truffle sauce and the best beef wagyu carpaccio we ever ate (even the one in Tokyo was not better). And waiters and their manager made us feel like we are the only and the most important guests in whole resort. I jave the Gluteb intollerance and they really did a hard job to make me feel that I have the same options as others. The manager Mr.Prokash and his team were so nice and naturally helpful . We never expirienced that before. Mr. Remy was always coming and just asking how we are doing. Mr. Anjal, Mr. Dushan, Mr. Jorl and Mrs. Swarnali knew our names and what ate last timr and offered always something what would might be similar style as we liked before. They even stay longer than regular opening hours of the restaurant jist zi let us finish our drinks..

United Arab EmiratesOur valet parked car was returned literally covered in large bird droppings. They should put shades up to protect vehicles. I needed to get the car properly cleaned to protect from paint damage.

Luxury stay where there is every attention to detail from the hotel and staff. Customer service remains truly excellent. Menu superb and quality of food are one of the best for any restaurant in the world. Many activities are included in your hotel booking. Superb facilities with Bose music streaming in your room. Our favourite hotel. Take time to unwind from the hectic pace of modern life in a traditional Arabic setting.

Hong KongVery far location because of the desert area, I had to pay extra taxi fees around 550 AED going to and leaving from the hotel, absolutely expensive! The location is also hard to find, fortunately they provide some details in the email. Desert area means there are lots of insects (especially mosquitoes and flies in the pool), will bite you and leave you uncomfortable (my mum got 7+ mosquitoes bites). Although they provided sprays, those are harmful to your health, not suitable to use a lot. I recommend adjusting the air conditioning to a low temperature. Have spa services and massage provided with extra charges, we want to book after check in but realise that it was totally full😅, better to tell all guests that they can prebook these services if needed. The water pressure of the shower is too small and cannot adjust the temperature to a hot temperature. The hotel promised to have wake-up morning call service at 5:30am but they ended up forgetting it. For the food, I don’t think it’s extraordinary… The steak is too hard to bite😂though the dessert and the appetiser were nice. The waiter takes so long time to answer your request. For the local activities, remember to reserve more time to call the buggy to pick you up to avoid being late, we ended up being late and don’t know how to walk to the activity venue. The time slots provided (except the archery) are not enough, so make sure to arrive early at the hotel and prebook in advance.
it’s very rare that we can live in a hotel surrounded by the desert area, so you can see a large variety of animals, you can see the goats walking near your room, they are so cute! We can choose 2 desert activities and the camel ride was an extraordinary experience. We also took photos with the eagle. The staff service is very good, explaining things in detail and being very patient and polite. They welcome guests well before and during our stay. Before we left, they collected feedback from us, showing they really care about customers, they even give me a free doll. Very relaxing, can swim at the private pool and have a hot bath afterwards. 3 meals included, the breakfast is nice. The hotel provides buggy service to go to different places (e.g. restaurant and spa facilities) and amenities, especially 8+ bottles of water for one night, and even traditional snacks and cookies. Have a bottle of alcohol as welcome drinks as well, but other alcoholic beverages are not complimentary. They provided afternoon tea (some cakes, coffee and snacks) at designated times.

United KingdomActivities are very early even in winter so it is hard to get up unless you go really early to bed the previous night. Price is very steep for what it is , especially as it needs a bit of modernisation round certain areas of the suite (I fully understand Bedouin style but it needs a tiny little bit of maintenance I.e. some tiles in the pool)
Private pool, tranquility , beautiful views, attentive staff, good food

United Arab EmiratesThis is probably more a faiiling on my personal Internet computer skills. As opposed to something the Hotel failed on. But i would add some additional written web page points. Thats its important to state and inform the Hotel what actual activities you wish to engage on, before you arrrive. Example this would ensure you set a Camel ride place, if customer numbers are high. As i say possibly more my web detail failing, than the hotel.
I have stayed in UAe 26 years, and have had the pleasure and privilege of staying in your hotel a couple of tiimes before, i also treated the wifes parents to a stay also. Due to being impressed previously on all occassions with the setting, the staff professionalism, freindly helpful demeanour and attitude, basically the whole experience. On this occasion i treated my daughter and boyfriend who were on vacation from UK. Both of these guys expressed their collective satisfaction, on the setting, activities, facilities, service, attention to detail, with the staff helpful attitude being high on their enjoyment list. Guys most of my family have been lucky enough in life to have visited and stayed in many places over the years. And although many factors make up an overall pleasant experience. Its our view that without having genuinely nice, professional human beings being part of the memory. Many other positive elements could be negated. We are happy to report since you asked. That every aspect of their expectation was met. So thankyou to all the individuals who set this high standard.

United KingdomThe only thing for us on this particular trip was there was a tiny bit of maintenance going on in the main pool area - but this did not make any difference to us as the private pool for our suite was so gorgeous we would not have left it anyway!
We absolutely loved the experience of staying here. The service is absolutely first class. The accommodation is luxurious, the views beautiful and the ambience restful, peaceful and a true oasis away from the city. The food is plentiful and every meal we had was delicious with lots to choose from. The outside dining experience is wonderful. There are a few activities included and we would totally recommend the Sunset Camel Ride and Falconry.
