Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdomthe area where the hotel is located is not great in terms of cleanliness. however the inside of the hotel is good and we had no issue. the hotel needs a bit of upgrading and gym needs to be open for longer periods of time. also, having a breakfast included option from booking.com is needed.

PolandIt’s a decent place to stay, nothing spectacular or super modern but good one close to transport and airport. The breakfast might be a bit more various (maybe some dried fruits, nuts, cake?) and definitely real coffee (not the instant one) and variety of tea would make it better
Great location near historical neighbourhood in old Dubai, as well as metro station. Close by there are many shops and restaurants

South AfricaThere was a lot of noise from the corridors. We could not sleep as whenever guests came out of the elevator and walked along the corridors rhey spoke loudly and we get up. This happened continuously throught the night and well into the early hours of the morning. Hence we did not have a restful sleep. The hotel should put up signs asking guests to not speak along the corridors and to be considerate to other guests!
The location, rooms and staff were wonderful! The room was confortable and the staff were always willing to assist! Great service!

United KingdomThe hotel is in a lower class area and very busy but still convenient and good value for money.
We had a very comfortable stay. Very clean, comfy beds. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Rooftop pool was lovely too. Convenient location for the souks and dining on the creek.Great Indian food available in and near the hotel. Taxi to other main tourist sites (Burj, Mall, Jumeira beach etc) only took around 15 - 30 minutes depending on traffic.

LatviaThe hotel could use some refreshing touches. The wallpaper in the room is torn in some places, some lamp caps are broken. As already mentioned, a balcony that could not be opened. Our door jammed every time so we had to pull harder to close it every time we went out. There was a carpet in the room, but it should be cleaned better. The walls are thin and we had a room with connecting doors so we could hear every conversation in the next room. One thing that really bothered us was the humidity. There was no ventilation in the bathroom, so it felt like everything just stayed in the room. The room had good air-conditioning, to keep rooms from beeing hot, but the air with humidity remained in the room all the time.
Simple hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The concierge welcomes every guest and offers assistance. The housekeeping staff is very helpful and the breakfast manager always greeted us with a smile. As a genius program booker, we got an upgrade from a standard room to a deluxe room. This was our first trip outside the EU, so maybe the deluxe rating is different here, but the room had a good size for 7 nights. Room had tea/coffee making facilities, two bottles of water, mini fridge, safe, TV, desk, double bed with lots of pillows, bathtub, towels, shampoo, shaving kit, soap, hair dryer, air-conditioner, blackout curtains. Quite good wi-fi. Room also had a balcony, but it was not allowed to open. The bed was very good and comfortable. We were afraid of the breakfast offer as we are used to European food, but we had a very good meal every morning. Freshly made omelette and pancakes every other morning. Supposedly it's because of the deluxe room, but we also had very delicious fresh sweet orange juice for breakfast every morning. The hotel is located outside the skyscraper "district", but is easily accessible by metro, which is only a 7 minute walking distance. To go to the Burj Al Arab or the beach side, the bus station is a 10-15 minute walk distance. There are lots of small tech shops around the hotel, but during your stay you kind of get used to the buzz when the city comes alive after 4pm as the sun start to go down. Everyone speaks English. Each sign is also in English. Although the hotel has some flaws, we enjoyed our stay. We might stay here again if we ever come to Dubai again.

Pakistan'd like to mention a minor issue regarding the charging policy for additional water requests. I believe that guests should not be charged for requesting a second serving of water bottles during their stay. It would be beneficial if the hotel could consider revising this policy, as access to complimentary water refills can greatly enhance guest satisfaction without incurring additional charges. This adjustment would align more with the hospitality standards and further improve the overall guest experience.
Absolutely delighted with my 4-night stay at Gateway Hotel Bur Dubai! From the moment I arrived, the warmth of the welcome extended by Miss Semap at the reception made my stay incredibly pleasant. Her gracious demeanor and smooth communication skills added a lovely touch to the experience. The hotel's prime location near bustling markets, restaurants, and cafes made it a breeze to explore the area. Easy access to main roads and proximity to the metro simplified my travel plans greatly. Moreover, the peaceful nights without any disturbance ensured a restful sleep, allowing guests like me to recharge completely. The room service was exceptional—prompt and efficient, catering to requests swiftly. They even went above and beyond by reminding me about breakfast one morning and arranging a special service when I missed it. This level of attentiveness truly impressed me. I must mention the excellent security measures in place, notably the courteous and welcoming demeanor of Security Officer Umer. His warm greetings every time I entered or left the hotel were reassuring and added an extra layer of comfort. Overall, my stay felt like a home away from home. I didn't encounter any negatives during my time here. I'm genuinely grateful for the top-notch service provided by the staff, making my stay at Gateway Hotel Bur Dubai an absolute pleasure.

Sri LankaNothing I didn't like about this place. Everything was perfect.
the hotel staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The house keeping staff was very responsive to all the requests and probably the best I have seen so far. The breakfast buffet had a reasonable spread to enjoy. The hotel was located in a very busy central location and makes it easy to get to places.
