Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomSmall drainage problem for the shower, but wasn’t an issue.
The hosts were so helpful when organising our transport to and from the Shala River. They were proactive in communicating with us and checked in to make sure we arrived safe, which was very thoughtful. The breakfast was truely exceptional and the hosts were really nice.

DenmarkThe food was quite disappointing (for lunch and dinner). And it wasn’t better any other places which made us happy that we didn’t stay there for more then two night. We ate a pizza at the neighbors hotel and got a huge piece of sharp plastic in it. AND the trip there is a serious hassle! If I knew it was that much of a pain I might have reconsidered. The boat ride alone was 1,5 hours (but it’s so beautiful) and the road to get to the boat station is bad. Like really bad. I wouldn’t go there with kids. But but but it’s BEAUTIFUL and it’s northern Albania at its most mesmerizing scenery.
It’s literally in the middle of nothing. It’s like a small village of hotels around this small river. We thought upon arrival that it was completely isolated but it’s not. Plenty of people and a fare amount of day trips tourists. It’s both a pro and a con. It offers more eating options but it doesn’t give you that completely isolated feeling. But the scenery is something that I have NEVER experienced before and it reminds me of nothing from other travels (and I have travelled the world). So I highly recommend it. The personal, which is a family business, is so sweet and nice and will help you with whatever. The rooms are nice, comfy and I slept like a baby. The breakfast is awesome.

AustraliaWe had an excellent stay at the Guesthouse for two nights. As everyone says, the staff are very friendly and welcoming. We spent time rotating between the beach chairs and swimming, the chairs are complimentary for guests. With four of us to one room it was very hot at night, but with the windows open it cooled enough to sleep.

PortugalThis is one of the best and most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed in. We were a group of 7 and were completely mesmerized by the beauty of this place. We had a great time at the guesthouse. Everything was clean and quiet. It was quite hot and the host gave us a fan to each room to keep it cool. We had a friend who had a bit of a faint due to the hot weather and the people who worked at the guesthouse were the most perfect, helping out in what they could! Would definitely recommend staying here!! We only stayed one night and we wanted to stay more! Perfect contrast to the south of Albania. The communication on how to get there could be better as you have to take a boat to get there and need to book it with the host. Other than that, 10/10 for sure!!!

A little piece of paradise. A staff always attentive. We were welcomed like kings. The whole team was amazing with our family. What a joy to be received like this. Thank you again for your hospitality, every little attention was very appreciable. The place is beautiful, relaxing and so exotic. It was a nice cut in the middle of nature. The rooms are very clean and the bedding very comfortable. We also ate very well throughout our stay . Our children were delighted and kept only good memories in mind. 100% Recommended

This accomodation, the staff, facilities and restaurant was amazing. We had the best stay and I honestly believe we managed to book the best guest house on the river. Everything was brand new, clean, food hygiene was a high priority which we appreciated. We got a free beer on arrival and we were so cared for by the staff. They definitely take pride in their space and that’s evident by comparing Guesthouse Zgiboza to the other guest houses and facilities. The room was so clean, the linen was beautiful and clean and the bathroom was spotless. Would 10000% recommend. We loved the canoes, the fires every night and the sun chairs.

ThailandNothing! Everything was perfect 👌
The guesthouse has only 2 years that is opened it is absolutely brand new. The room was perfect with river view, exceptionally clean and the sheet were smelling so good! The place itself is incredibile and the way to reach it is simply beautiful and part of the journey. The family running the place has a strong personal history The place is a must-see of Albania, we learnt that the North-Tournism is kind of hidden in the country in favour of the South Coast to be 'preserved'. We invite everybody to come and visit this little gem instead which has more than wilderness to offer, you will find a great atmosphere and great people. Among all the other guesthouses of the place we love this one above all! Great breakfast, it has a bar and a restaurant with delicious food.

United KingdomI wish we had stayed another night!
What a stunning and special place! Starting with the boat ride from Komani Lake Ferry (booked via the guesthouse and cost 25 Euros pp return) - the scenery reminded me of Thailand. Arriving at the guesthouse, we were shown directly to our room which although basic, had everything we needed for the night and a beautiful view. We took advantage of the sunbeds outside the guesthouse, drinks in their bar and lots of refreshing swims in the river. Highly recommend taking a kayak onto the lake. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and I cannot recommend more!

TurkeyYou should know the fact that it is a like village. So you shouldn't expect a five star hotel experience. The guesthouse is made out of wood. That's why, there are bugs everywhere which is pretty normal for somewhere in the woods.
First of all we loved the river. It was amazing. Canoeing was a nice experience for us. There were sunbeds and umbrellas in front of the guesthouse. We used them and nobody charged us for that. The host and staff were helpful.

Zgiboza Guesthouse is the most amazing place in the whole Shala River, I’m talking about hospitality, food, drinks and late night talks with the owners of Zgiboza Guesthouse infront of a campfire that they make every night. The rooms were very clean and spacious and let’s not talk about the balcony view, it’s just stunning. I thank the staff of Zgiboza Guesthouse for making the stay much more comfortable and pleasant.

The boat ride bore some of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen, and as the ride went on it only got better. The staff were the most accommodating I've ever seen, bringing us cold drinks for free by the water, taking us up the mountain to the old village, and playing volleyball with us as well. They truly went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible, truly an unforgettable experience!
