Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Bathroom is a little uncomfortable for Western standards, could be cleaner. But overall a comfortable stay for the price.

A very clean place with dorms and private rooms. The place is very close to the city center and so is accessible to all the main locations and the bus station. The host was helpful and very responsive too. A quiet and peaceful stay.

Improvement on kitchen . It's little bit dirty
Owner so kind he gave me private room with bathroom . I was booking for dorm. It has balcony as well and it's spacious. But it was 4th floor so better not have luggage as it suffer me. So far I enjoy it. Wifi and bed are all good

Toilet in the bathroom didn’t work properly, after using it water was everywhere.
The location was great, the Air conditioner was really helpful.

Shame staff had very little English. Toaster packed up while there but not replaced even though showed staff it wasn't working.
Great hard-working staff. Good location, quiet and country feel as hens (and rooster) in adjacent backyard.

The bed was not prepared when I arrived. The communication was confusing due to language barrier. The bathroom is always full of water on the floor and is not up to my expectation for cleanliness. Lack of charging and electrical sockets for every bed.
Perfect location in the center of the city and next to all conveniences including the bus station. The host was very nice and the place has beautiful view to the center. Laundry service can be used. The room is quiet despite the location in the city. Very cheap price for single travellers for for a short stay.

It was easy to find and has everything you need. The kitchen is basic equipped. Staff was friendly and helpful, we could even store our luggage for 2 days.

The main issue was communicating with the host. He did'nt know English, so it was a bit difficult to understand what he was trying to say--- but there's always Google translate......The kitchen was a bit too small. Would become pretty tight for more than one person in there. But for the price it was alright for me. Also if you are a person who gives more importance to the stay, it might not suit your taste. We were out most of the time and spent only the nights at the dorm. So, that was fine.
The accomodation was worth the cheap price. I stayed in a 4 bedroom dorm with a balcony with a bathroom. It was pretty clean. Met a few other travelers at the stay. It is located in the middle of the city, so is easily accessible to many shops and eateries. Overall very affordable and comfortable accomodation.

The staff Sajd was very kind , he helped to navigate to the hostel and also helped with places to visit.. He also offered me coffee at the cafe when I was about to leave shkoder. God bless him and his family!!

The worst thing about my room (I had a private room) was the design of the bathroom: the sink was falling apart, the shower was lukewarm, and, worst of all, it was designed so that the whole bathroom would flood when you took a shower. The hostel has no common areas to speak of, and, in December, the whole hostel (outside of the individual rooms) was freezing, as they had tons of windows which were permanently open. Overall, it is overpriced for what you get.
This hostel is centrally located, it has 24h reception, and the Wi-Fi is strong; the facilities, including the kitchen, are sufficient.

There were two of us, and while one had a comfortable bed, unfortunately the other did not, which made it hard to get a good nights sleep. While the linens and rooms were very clean, the kitchen could use a little attention.
The host!!! He was absolutely amazing!!! He was kind, and soooo helpful (gave restaurant suggestions, helped book transportation to Valbone and back from Theth, let us do laundry, and stored our big pack while we were in the mountains). The hostel is also in a great location, close to bus station, great restaurant and two amazing bakeries.
