Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. It's clean and comfortable. The staff does not speak English, but are very kind and helpful. A little far away from the city center, but its quiet and the veranda has nice view.

Limited breakfast. Plastic sachets for soap, shampoo, jams etc at breakfast - not good for the environment.
Clean and comfortable. Spacious room and comfortable bed. A bit out of the centre of town but plenty of places to eat nearby.

They charged us an extra 15% for paying with credit card that was never mentioned during the booking process or the booking confirmation!

The room was large with perfect view and very clean. The bed was comfortable. The personnel was very kind and helpful. I definitely suggest the hotel.

The units are on a gravel road. No problem with a backpack or car/taxi arrival, but definitely an issue when getting there on foot with suitcases on wheels.
The units are all on main floor with private terrace. This is great. Rooms are good and comfortable. Breakfast is cheap and basic. It is an easy walk to the city. Manager and mother are both very friendly people.

Rather old accommodation, very basic breakfast (1/2 toast, 1 mini croissant, 1 cookie, coffee)...paperlike walls, you could hear everything..you get a 10ml shampoo. Disappointed

The staff were very friendly but it was a bit remote for me. Would be good for people with a car. You could hear every door banging and other guests talking in their rooms. As a solo traveller I would have been better nearer the town, my error when booking.

Walls don't block the noise of other guests. Hosts could provide more explanation about breakfast. Sheets gave me electric shocks!

Some of the staff wasn't the nicest you have met. Breakfast was just one croissant and a sweet cake.
Comfortable rooms with a table and chair in front so you can sit outside. Has parking right in front.

Just a heads up that communication with the hotel staff may be difficult if you don't speak Spanish.
Welcoming staff. I liked that the accommodation was a 15-min walk from the centre. Overall our stay just felt easy and fuss-free.

Location is in a residential street, and could be considered little far from the Main Street in El Calafate, however this is the reason it is quiet. Breakfast could be little more substantial.
Nice new modern building with clean and simple rooms, great shower, in a quiet location.

No dislikes. It's just simplistic but that's totally fine.

It was farther out from the Centre than I expected. They said it was close but not that close. Not much in the way of amenities close by. Breakfast was boring - basically just toast and jam every day. No fruit, eggs etc.
Room was nice and big. Hostess was lovely and helpful. They organised early breakfast on excursion days. Excursions pick up from the hotel.

Thin walls between the rooms.. we could hear conversation of our neighbours. It was not so comfortable (they were loud). But the worst thing was the older lady in the front. Everything was good even with my so-so spanish until the moment of breakfast. She denied us to have breakfast even though we had breakfast included in our booking. She told us that we need to pay for that. I chose this establishment on our long journey because it includes breakfast (so we didn't buy anything for the morning) and this act was so disappointing. We are not the only one with this type of issue as I checked reviews on Google. Will not recommend this establishment.
The room was clean with towels and soap. The place was clean.
