Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PolandI didn't get the code to access the box with the keys but it was promptly resolved over the phone. No kitchen available so I had to wash my plates and cutlery in the bathroom sink. There is a microwave or an electric stove available in the corridor area though. It was the 1st time I had to secure a deposit over booking.com for a room. However, it was unblocked by the end of my stay. Online Check-in was rather tedious and bureaucratic.
I got pretty big room in a shared apartment. I enjoyed it mostly to myself as the other room remained almost vacant during my stay. Good location next to Schönbrunn Palace or 20min away by tram 52 from West Bahnhof.

United KingdomNothing that I can think of.
Good sized room that was clean and comfortable. The kitchen is small but has everything you need, and it is clear that effort and thought has been put into the place. Small details like information about bus times and incense in the bathroom etc were much appreciated. The accommodation was very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Although the location is quite far out, it is very near to Schonbrunn Palace and it is very easy to get the city centre as there are two underground stops nearby. Sam was very easy to contact and I had no problems arranging additional services (laundry).

DenmarkI'm not sure who runs this place but others had problems when arriving to get their rooms that they booked. The best advice I would give to others being interested booking at ABAI Hostel is to MAKE SURE you show up at the time of your stated arrival while checking in online, otherwise, from my impression they will not help you immediately and communication was difficult because they did not speak english.
The location was a bit outside of central of Vienna, closer to Schönbrunn Palace. The cleaning lady helped us when we arrived at 14:00 as we stated in our online-check in. Sheets, bathroom, kitchen and shower was clean. No bedbugs! Me and my friend had a pleasant stay.

AustraliaIt was a bit out of the way. It’s about 15 mins walk from schonbrunn palace thought which is nice, but about 10 mins from Johnstrasse station so quite a bit out of the main city area. The area feels a little bit iffy at night - it’s somewhat quiet and industrial looking so as a solo female you may feel a bit wary in the area. There was only one toilet and one shower shared between all of the rooms - which probably has a max capacity of 10 people. The dorm door didn’t automatically lock so the last person into the room needed to get their key out to lock it properly, so safety was probably not as good as it could be. I really disliked the €72 deposit on the hostel - which needed to be refunded afterwards. It seemed like a big deposit and a big hassle - I feel that other hostels do not do this.
Check in was easy - they even made a video you can watch to understand where all the things are. The host was very communicative via whatsapp. The hostel was clean and there were power outlets (and free slippers!) for every bed.

EstoniaThe hostel is divided into 3 different apartments on ground floor, in our apartment there was 6+2 beds (2 rooms), kitchen and bathroom, but there was no common room. Also spotted some few ants on the bedroom floor, but because people ate in the bedroom, so naturally nature does it's thing.
The bed was comfortable, staff was friendly and for that price you get the hostel basics you actually need. Also metro and tram connections are near by, plus supermarkets. Overall would recommend for that price!

United KingdomLack of a code to get into the building - would prefer there to be a lock for greater security. But area felt safe so overall it was fine.

United KingdomIt is quite far from the city centre and there is only one bathroom to share between 4 rooms. There was no sink in the toilet so you had to wash your hands in the kitchen sink.
The kitchen was very well equipped, everything was as stated, the staff were very welcoming. There are grocery shops, public transport stations and restaurants close by. The area is shaded so the accommodation stayed cool. It is very good value for money.

CanadaThe bathroom was not cleaned at all. There was no staff and the owner was nowhere to be reached. My deposit has not been refunded. Many bookings have been made but the property had issues providing cleaned beds to new tenants during my stay. Some clients were unable to check-in others had to book somewhere else. Something weird has going on since I checked in. Make sure you talked to the owner BEFORE booking, or else you will not have a bed.
The bed was clean and comfortable. The property has secure keys to enter the premises and to open the lockers.

NetherlandsIt is very difficult to use one bathroom combined with a toilet when there are a lot of people. Very slow wifi, The audibility is excellent, I heard someone talking behind the wall every evening, take earplugs to sleep.
One of the most affordable hostel in Vienna. Do not expect a miracle for such low money. There is a kitchen tea and coffee (thank you so much for that). Located near the center and train station. Be sure to take rubber slippers

United StatesNothing to do with the facilities, but one of the people staying in our room was a heavy smoker and even though he never smoked in the room, he folded cigars in the room and the room at times was smelly. A seating area to eat (as there is a kitchen) Beyond the table at the room would be nice.
Cheap price for being in Vienna! You get what you pay. A room for 6 people with 3 bunk beds. A closet with a key was provided to store valuables. That was good since you're staying technically with strangers. Would only recommend this place if you're travelling solo, trying to save money and are just looking for a place to crash. Host was kind and pretty clear on the instructions The place is within 10-15 min walking distance to the nearest metro station.
