Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyNo airconditioning, no amenities in the room, the room is bare like a cheap motel and the window cannot be fully opened in summer days in Vienna where there is a heat wave. No remote control for the TV and I had to ask twice to have one. I could not sleep well for several nights because it is so hot and it is the worse hotel stay I have ever experienced in all of my international travels.
Close to the major tourist sites in Vienna

United KingdomNo air conditioning & very very hot room. Could hardly sleep. Room was very basic and in my opinion very overpriced for what it was.
Convenient location - Rennweg station very close by & close to supermarkets. Staff were helpful and friendly.

FinlandThere was only one transparent curtain in the room (the residents of the opposite house could see into our room). Also, there was not minibar/small fridge in the room and there was not hand soap in the bathroom.
The interior of the room was nice and cozy (expect for curtains). The hotel staff was friendly.

IrelandThe beds had springs coming out of them, there was no main light in the room or any sockets around the bed to plug the lamp in. The hotel was also unbearably warm and there was no AC

SpainIt was so hot in Vienna in July and the room had carpet and no a/c (just a fan). The curtains in the shower had mould. There was no light in the bed area, just the bedside lamps. The room didn't have fridge nor kettle.
The location was good. It was quiet at night.

United KingdomThe room was filthy. Arrived at the hotel after a 7 hour journey to find used cups with remaining saliva in the bathroom. Holes in the wall near the plugs. Stained curtains with which looked like blood. Last but not least, no air conditioning in 35 degree heat! Just a fan which was very noisy. The room felt uneasy and uncomfortable to be sleeping in. I also understand that some rooms are still under renovation but the room we also received was very outdated and looked nothing like the photos. If the room were clean I wouldn’t care but the dirtiness threw me off. Checked out after about 20 minutes.
The staff were polite.

Czech RepublicDirty, very small rooms, old equipment, old bathroom.
The lobby was beautiful, but the rooms not so much. When we checked in, we god a dirty room (the housekeeping didn’t clean it yet), but they gave us new room immediately. Also great location.

IrelandMy daughters and me wear tan , like most fair skinned people, there was 2 towels where the tan got on, the man At reception very rudely showed me a picture of the towels been held up by the cleaning staff , I felt this was way over the-top as they have industrial machines and I use white towels at home it ruined the hotel experience , and I always like positive feedback
Good enough value

United StatesThe location was perfect...across from tram, a very short walk to the OBB (easy access to flight in the early morning), walkable to the center, to Belvedere, to the botanical garden, and to Hauptbahnhof. In a nice little neighborhood with a couple of nice restaurants. I loved the location! The room was comfortable, wifi fast, and plenty of hot water. No real noise (room faced the street) and very nice, helpful staff. I didn't have breakfast but there are machines for cold drinks, coffee, and snacks in the lobby. An easy, enjoyable, comfortable, and affordable stay!

United StatesHosts have to remember that we are traveling, mostly from other countries. I wish they would let us know exactly which bus/train to take to get to home. And (almost a huge problem this time) European wifi sometimes doesn't connect well.and traveling all day I had like 2% charge on my phone to get last minute instructions. It was after 1 AM, in the rain, locked outside, but fortunately 2 boys were just coming home in that building and helped me get the key from the lockbox.
No breakfast but a nice kitchen to cook and store food. It was very near transportation, shops, and attractions. Very nice.

IrelandThe property is run down, there’s mould in the bathrooms, fake eyelashes were left lying on our floor, the bed sheets had stains on them as did the towels. The place overall is not clean or comfortable.
I have to say there is not a lot to like about this property. It’s run down and does not match the pictures provided on this website.

NetherlandsSmall room, tiny shower with curtain instead of shower cabin. Shower head rotates by itself when you turn on water. No air conditioning, extremely hot during summer. 100-years old furniture. Granny's carpets on the floor.

ItalyThe room was too hot, there was no air conditioning system and the temperature was more or less 35°C inside at night. We asked for another fan, but they didn't provide it to us. The towels weren't able to dry our bodies, we didn't have a fridge and a microwave. We also had difficulties with the coffee machine, plus the shower made a mess everytime you turned it on and there was no possibility to fully open the window. There was no ventilation system nor a window in the bathroom and it could be a problem in certain situations.
They gave us a third bed and the location was convenient

SerbiaThere was no air-condition in our room but we had ventilators so it wasn't that bad.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would rate the breakfast 1000/10 if it was possible. The rooms are a bit outdated but they are renovating the hotel. The lobby is charming and if you arrive before check-in you can leave your luggage in a designated luggage room. The hotels location is also perfect, the hauptbahnhof is around 20min walking distance but public transport is also available so you can easily visit the tourist attractions. I know that there's no such thing as a perfect trip but the breakfast and the hotel staff made up for it. Overall it was a pleasant stay for us.

NetherlandsThere were little bits of fungus built up in some corners of the shower recess.
The bed was ideal, a whole double size, without a join 🙂 The cleaning staff came in every day, straightened up my bed and provided me with fresh towels. The entrance doors were always opened 24/7. The breakfast buffet was continually kept full. Staff were friendly and non-discriminatory. The weather was very hot during my stay, although there was no air conditioning, the rooms had pedestal fans, which, for me, were totally sufficient.
