Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

When room was cleaned towels were all taken away and we were only left with 1 towel but were checking out the next morning anyways so didn’t complain. Also bathroom bin wasn’t emptied when we checked into our room but we didn’t complain about this either as everything else was perfect. Amazing air xx dorm g

Nothing at all, just small comments the bathroom does not have ventilation system, but you can open the window and refresh the air.
The hotel located in the heart of Vienna and near the main shopping streets and tourist attractions. room was renovated and has all amenities, including tea and coffee. bed was comfortable. staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is in a great location, in the heart of the shopping street, close to all the popular attractions. The hotel staff is very professional, especially the concierge staff at the gate, who are very enthusiastic and helped us a lot. I will definitely choose to stay here again next time I go to Vienna.

Mostly details: the staff at breakfast speaks poor german and english, towels to thin for this category of hotel, very firm matress on the sofa bed, no complimentary bottle of water in the room despite heat wave weather.
The location, very comfortable rooms, the very friendly and helpful staff on the reception.

The breakfast, no vegan items except fruit. No smoked salmon, no steamed or grilled vegetables. There is nothing to eat if you are vegetarian. The breakfast staff, although they take your room number the keep following you to sign or pay, not even waiting until you finish your coffee. There is no water amenity in the room. The balcony was so dusty and unclean. Spiders in its corners.
The reception and concierge team were so friendly. The location was super. I love this hotel

The location is great, very central & near major sightseeing spots. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious and most importantly very well air conditioned (we were in Vienna during 35C days and our room was always cool and comfortable.) Would definitely stay here again.

Very good location, right in the centre of the city but conveniently tucked away from the main streets and tourist crowds. Friendly staff. Our room was quiet, clean, cool in the summer. I was in a wheelchair and everything was comfortable except for the entrance, but we managed.
