We had an amazing stay at B&B Simmer. Mrs. Heidi is a great hostess, very nice and friendly. She recommended restaurants in the area and gave us ideas for Hallstatt. The breakfast was awesome!

The sound isolation is not good enough, you really can hear the people taking and laughing in the near rooms.

The breakfast was really good with good variety, part of the dishes like omelet and crepes made at the place. Parking was adjacent to the house. Heidi and Hubert were lovely ready to answer any question we got. The mountain view from the balcony is great!

It was all good.

We loved everything about our stay here. The location is peaceful, with a quiet garden running down to a stream, and with a brood of characterful chickens roaming around. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. Heidi and her husband were so friendly and kind, including helping when our daughter was recovering from an illness. We’d have no hesitation staying here again.

We would have loved tea and coffee making facilities in the room for that first cuppa of the morning. The bugs were also bad so with the hot weather bug screens on the windows would have been welcomed.

We particularly liked the location - the B&B is close enough to Hallstatt to visit either by ferry or to bike. It took us about 20 minutes to bike mainly along easy bike paths. We much preferred staying in Obertraun away from the mass of tourists in Hallstatt. There is a lovely swim spot on the lake just down the road from the B&B with a cafe and toilets and a large lawned area for sunbathing - a lovely way to spend a morning! Heidi and Hubert were so friendly and welcoming and prepared us a wonderful breakfast including a fresh omelette to order. We had breakfast on the terrace overlooking a small stream and the mountains…wonderful!

The lack of tea and coffee making facilities was a bit disappointing.

The location is amazing, the owners were welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was delicious and used lots of home grown ingredients including eggs from the chickens kept by the owners.

-Excellent location about 5 minutes by bus to Hallstatt. -The home owners are very kind and freindly people. Always smiling at your face. -the room was very clean with great balcony views. -The price is considered great compared to other rentals in the area. -A great feature is that the breakfast is included in the price and made by the owners in the morning with a variety of food to choose from, Also i noticed that the owners serve you the breakfast themselves which is great and then they also come ask you if you want more which shows there hospitality and careness for the visitors. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit the magical village of Hallstatt.

Absolutely wonderful! From great homemade food for breakfast to spectacular views all around! The hosts were amazing and very accommodating! If we get the chance, we would definitely stay here again!

My only criticism is that we were upstairs and there's neither AC nor a fan. It was a little hot in there, we had the window and balcony door open but there's no breeze so it really didn't cool down until the morning. The night time cools down plenty in the summer there (at least when we were there) so if we had just had a ceiling fan or even small table/floor fan to move the air around we would have been much more comfortable.

The hosts were super-friendly and engaging, the breakfast was surprisingly varied and delicious.

To be nitpicky: the pillows were a bit weird: two pillows inside a very large pillowcase, so if you rested your head in the middle it would just sink between the pillows. After figuring that out, it was ok.

Very small B&B on a very quiet area, still close to Hallstatt. The hosts were extremely nice and went above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience in Obertraun. Obertraun is a very small and quiet place, but you can walk to a dock and catch a boat to Hallstatt if you which to visit it, as well as three restaurants. Some other mountain trails are available around Obertraun but we didn't get the chance to explore that. Breakfast is obviously not a full continental breakfast experience from a big hotel, but the basics are covered and tasty, with the hosts once again more than willing to accomodate for some extra requests. The room had a nice balcony with an amazing view of the mountains. The room was large and confortable.
