Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BelgiumWe were out of toilet paper often in the evenings.
Th kitchen was well equipped and the giant fridge was sufficient for all guests. Nice common area. It took a while to get used to the qr-code system and how to scan the code. The online check-in didn’t work because we were a group with multiple rooms but the physical lobby of their partner hostel was around the corner and they were superfriendly and prepared already separate printed codes for us. I’m sure the check-in works perfectly for single and couple travellers.

Swedenit was noisy if someone was walking outside the doors. there are Noo carpets in walkway to reduce the noise of foot steps. you can hear them all the time even in midnights.
completely online. there will be no one at the reception if you are arriving late night and will be doing everything online. so soo easy bot much complicated.

AustraliaThe water pressure in the showers was pretty low and there wasn't anything to hang the shower heads on. I would have appreciated actual sheets that wrap around the blankets as well as a bigger towel. All that said, value for money was pretty good.
Check-in was very simple and all QR code based. Very clean facilities.

Palestinian TerritoryThere was lack of air flow in the room, we had S3 which was underground, the smell of the food cooked in the kitchen stucks in your room forever and the only window is on the bottom of the street so a rat can get in if you open it, if not for the really bad smell we had to live through, I would have given it a 10/10
Self check in and check out via QR is an amazing and easy concept, the room had fun design.

CroatiaBed sheets were slightly disappointing, and no way to play table football. Wish there was a way to notify if new towels or bedsheets were needed
Location was great, close to the underground trains and trams. A lot of places to grab food and drinks around. Enough shower rooms and bathrooms to never need to wait. Rooms had self-managed windows and radiators, so we could adjust temperature how we liked it. Kitchen well equipped to prepare your own meals, no oven tho.

United StatesI didn't like that I had to go to a different location to get a QR code to enter the room. It was super complicated, especially since I didn't have access to a phone or Internet on the street.

PolandSometimes the code QR wasn't working on a first try, but usually after the second try the door easily opened.
Very smart way to run a hotel - without service, without keys (which can be easily lost) and with lots of facilities. We really appreciate the possibility to leave a luggage after check out and before check in. Also the kitchen was really tidy and well-equipped.

MaltaSome toilet rooms were either locked or very stinky one day.
Comfy lockable beds, sheets were clean. You get a lamp with adjustable brightness and a power outlet in your bunk. Also a small towel. There's a mirror and a small desk in your room. Shower rooms were clean. Be careful when going to the bathroom at night, everything unlocks by a QR code on your phone so don't leave it in your bed :) Even though there's no staff on site, they were very quick to respond to my request on the booking chat The location is good 10 min from stadthalle

United KingdomThere were no lockers in the dorm rooms. One toilet always smelled bad (I suspect ongoing issue rather than lack of cleaning). A bit far from the city centre but easily accessible through the metro underground system.
The beds were very private, locked with a personal QR code. The check in and out was very easy because it was online (no reception or staff, completely self service). The guest kitchen was well equipped.
