Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Male bathroom needed some renovation.
I was pleasantly surprised. I stayed on second floor, it was not hot, new bedding sheets and comfortable pillow. OK bathroom and shower. Great breakfast

Saying that there is a kitchen is misleading. Yes, there is a kettle, microwave and fridge but nothing to actually cook on. Not much cutlery and dishes either. Another thing is that we rented a padlock which we had to pay a 10 euro cash deposit for and due to leaving at night there was no way of me getting it back. I messaged on booking.com and provided my PayPal (which they asked for) and days later I am still waiting to receive the deposit back.
The property was decently clean, the beds were comfortable and there was even a fan beside the bed. The location is very good, there is a supermarket close by and it is close to many attractions.

There is no AC. And the the curtains are not blackout so they don’t block out the light but they do block out the air making the room unbearably hot. You have a fan at your bed but you have to choose whether you need to charge someothing or cool down.
It’s very close to everything there is to do. The breakfast is fine.

The breakfast is not included. The hotel asks for €15.00 for breakfast, which I found excessive. The showers do not have places to hang up closed or toiletries.
The location is great, close to the center. A quiet neighborhood.

The staff is non existent. Were only in once which wasn’t great.
Very central and the showers were amazing. Had personal fans by the beds and they were also comfy.

The street was extremelly loud and busy at night. Since it was very hot we had open windows but this made it almost impossible to sleep.
Everything was very clean and according to description. Since I arrived late and checked out early I only had contact with the staff via the app and it was quick and easy. Self-service check in/out was clear and very easy. The building itself had vedy beautiful hall and staircase.

I was given a bed in the mezzanine floor of one of the rooms. It had a really low ceiling which I kept bumping into (rather painfully at times). The room electricity works by key card activitation (typical of hotel rooms). The problem is that this is a shared room so it was a hassle.
Great location. You could walk to all the key attractions from the hostel. It was clean and well maintained.

The lockers could not be locked, which made me feel insecure about leaving my luggage. I found a book under the pillow. Someone forgot it. Also made me realized that the bed sheets were used and haven’t been changed for my arrival. I found it very crowded, very little space available per person.
Location is good. Has all the main facilities needed.

Small room with little air, no AC (expected) and with soft matrass and fluffy warm blanket (way too hot for the season). Was very hot to sleep. No towel provided.
Rooms are clean and small (not many people per room). Beds are sturdy, not squeaky.

The only downside was that it was hot on the second floor, but they provided individual fans at each bed. I'd probably see if I could book a lower bunk next time instead of a top bunk, but I'm also just sensitive to the heat.
Only had a 12 hr layover and wanted somewhere to sleep after getting dinner in the city and this was perfect. Would stay here again even if I was there for a longer trip. Excellent location, comfortable bed, easy check-in/check-out, clean bathrooms.

the receptionists where very nice, but the reception is open for a short period of time. when it is close, they have a code access system, but you have to have internet to access which i didn haves. Not sure how it works, but people trying to get in looked confused. i just was lucky to find someone from cleaning staff who let me inside to drop my bag. i don t bother much, but you have to take stairs to most rooms
i recommend this hostel very much, the location is great !! A short walk to main atractions: Hufburg, museums, stephenplatz, to everywhere actually... as well as to public transportation and restaurants. supermarket in the neighbouhood the hostel is clean and comfortable enougth. It has a litlle hotel style reception, bathrooms are good so is the little kitchen. my room was airly and with good natural light. Personal experience: Nice and repectfull roommates, i think the vibe is generally good. not a party hostel luckily, no social spaces. you can leave your luggage at locker room, and stay at reception before/after check in/out withough problems. card access security great price/quality relation, one of the best prices in viennne

My bed was great....twin, not a bunk. However, the mattress was very uncomfortable & needs replaced. Was very difficult to sleep.
Location was OK. You needed to walk a distance to get to transport areas. Breakfast was OK but the scrambled eggs were cold. The fruit was not fresh. Cheeses were very good. Nice selection of hot beverages to get you going. Loved the elevator. My room was very nice. The lady who checked me in was very helpful.
