Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

A bit noisy after midnight from restaurants in the street but not a big issue
Close to the downtown of Vienna…Size of the room and equipment(shower in bathroom) was excellent

It was my fault for not saying anything beforehand, but I wouldn't have wanted cleaning after 1 night, especially when I'm away. But of course, it's very sweet of them.
The room was tidy, well-equipped, and in an amazing location.

Soundproofing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I understood the noise from the street - a bar and young people talking, it was Friday night:-) But inside the house through too short door I could hear every word from the corridor, such as a man´s long long telephone call in the "lobby" early in the morning and other sounds of guests having their breakfast.

Right at the historic area. I did not took breakfast because I planned to meet people at nearby coffee places, which there are plenty. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom small but nice and neat.

It was sometimes noisy, and a couple of time there was only cold water, so I had to call the reciption to turn on the water heater.
It was such a spacious room, and the location is fantastic. 100000/10

The beds were too hard for my back. I requested more pillows the second night which helped a bit. Hard to get shower to not leak a bit on the floor.
Great location, clean and spacious. Anna in reception was wonderful: welcoming and kind, skillful and professional. She was so helpful in problem solving particulars of our stay. She is a real asset to this business.

The receptionist Ana was super kind and helpful, there wasn't a single problem with the room, the location was very close to the center so it was all perfect.

Very nice and quiet place. The staff was polite, the room was spacious, cozy and clean, the towels were changed every day and the water was hot all day long. There was room to store our luggage after check out and the place was in a great location. I would recommend this place!

check in was different from most hotels we’ve frequented. would prefer a doorbell to an access code if staff are in the hotel. Some of the lights in our room room did not function. could hear people in next room speaking on their phone.

The walls seem to be made of paper. You can hear everything and everyone around, including the hotel staff preparing breakfast at 7 in the morning. If you need a good night's sleep, this is not the place you're looking for.

the breakfast is totally basic really like budgeted amount. The room 3&4 is kinda nightmare for the guests, once u step out of the room is directly where the buffet for breakfast ist, so evrybody can sneek how ur things are mess up inside the room once door is open. Incase of emergency no staff is there to assist u since reception is only there til 12:30 noon. U cant really get rest or u like to take afternoon nap coz u hear loud as clear how the guests talked outside ur door or banging the door. I cant blame them its a family business.
