Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeThe wooden sliding door for my assigned bed was stiff and was difficult to open or close, causing some noise and disturbance to the other dorm mates.
Easy and seamless check-in. I arrived too early to check-in, but it was possible for me to store my luggage at a secure, password-protected room and that was good enough for me. Liked the fact that the check-in process is completely automated.

SpainProblems with the check in. No lockers in the dorms. Coffee machine broken. Bread toaster broken. There is someone living in room 1 and he let strangers get in to the common areas.
Toilets were clean.

MexicoI wish There were at least one chair or a piece of furniture where you can sit to put on your shoes in the dorms. A trashcan in there would be nice too.
I love the location… It’s right across from the Central train station with transportation to just about any place you could want to go in all forms. The street it’s on has really been changing in the past few years, and there are more restaurants. It’s an easy walk to the Belvedere and not that far from Karlsplatz. The beds are comfortable, I love the privacy afforded when you can close off the large wooden panel. There are plenty of bathrooms and showers downstairs, and the common room is amazing, with huge sunny windows to sit in and a good kitchen.

MoroccoI DO NOT RECOMMEND EVEN IF YOUR EXPECTATIONS ARE LOW. I believe that main purpose of a hotel is to sleep, especially if you're a traveller and want to enjoy your stay and sleep well. Well you're not going to sleep because of the worst mattress bed and pillows. We had to put the bed in the floor to have minutes of sleep. It's so poorly equipped that prisoners in Jail are having better rooms. And also, the process of self check-in is stupid, complicated and don't even work, i had to be assisted by a member of the staff, since the website didn't even work
Its close to the main train Station, bus station for international lines, like Bratislava and to the Metro (Südtiroler)

DenmarkIt was a little difficult with the codes to the door, but ones you figured it out, it was very easy! Wished the app was a little more user friendly. Also no shampoo available, but towels is included! No paper towels in the bathrooms.
Very good location. 10 meters from the metro station and the central station, perfect when arriving by train, or when exploring the city by public transport! There was nothing that made me feel unsafe or anything like that. Really appreciate that you can close the doors to the beds! All in all a very affordable way of a accommodation!

United KingdomI arrived and was immediately told I couild not stay there! I DO NOT own a smartphone - but was told that I couldn't stay there without one! The Booking.com site doen't say anything about that - and to be told that I had to go all the way across tot he other side of Vienna to check in - and then go all the way back... THIS WAS TREATING ME LIKE DIRT. Do NOT stay here under any circumstances; ARROGANT BEYOND BELIEF.
Very, very good location right next to the train station. Very comfortable and within easy reach of the necessary facilities. Comfortable bed; certainly worthwhile for those who want to ignore the problem...

CroatiaThe mattress and the pillow wasn't comfortable (11/1).
The possibility to use cantine and storage area after check out is very useful and appreciated for any person having late flight so that's my favourite thing. The bathrooms were clean.

Poland- No instructions - Every door with 10 digits code first time then 4 (too much security for a place to sleep, it doesn't mean its necessarily good thing, very annoying) - The actual bed has a sliding door and iis locked with code (dracula coffin) - You can lock yourself inside the bed or someone can do it if they know the code (by seeing you typing it when opening every door) and you have to call emergency - No place to store so you have to sleep with your backpack and clothes in the dracula coffin (or use storage room for luggage downstairs and only get it back on checkout) - Beds are cracking with the slightest move - bed barely fits me (174 cm tall) - Room door cracks loudly when opened and wakes up roommates - Bed door is too loud when sliding open or close - Toilet too small (you cant sit without touching the door with your head) - No reception
Shower is not bad, no shampoo or soap though

IrelandChecking in was a bit confusing I didn't understand how to unlock the bed so I had to message staff. Otherwise I can't fault the place
You're right beside the metro station and train station so that's very handy. There's a 24 hour store right across from you if you're hungry or thirsty. Supermarket right next door with Aldi a 5 minutes walk away. Also convenient launderette nearby. Kitchen had a vending machine for snacks or coffee and plenty of communal space to sit down.

High Tech Hostel, everything is excellent - location is just a walking distance to Vienna Central Train and Bus stations and accessible to so many things. Instructions in how to help guests from check-in and check-out and how to move around the hostel and much more are easy to follow. Highly recommended.

IndiaThis total digital game they have played with no reception has completely failed. First of all the place is just across the HBF so location is great but be aware a garden next to this hostel is hotspot of all the junkies of Vienna. They just come on you sometimes attack you when you stand outside the gate of hostel and ask for money or things you have. Don’t be surprised if you see some junkie smoking week in the lobby. Thanks to automatic doors. Now come the bed part. This place offers you larger size coffins in the name of beds. Totally uncomfortable. Not a safe or comfortable place. No staff so you can’t these issues to someone.
