We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesBed springs made a lot of noise everytime one of us moved. A LOT OF NOISE!! A lot of people complained about their room being cold. We're told that the floors are heated centrally and they couldn't adjust it. They did give out extra blankets when requested. Not as clean as I would have liked.
Separate bathrooms for men and women. There was central heating so it was pretty chilly in our room which I liked. Staff was helpful. Gave me extra pillows.

Israeli really hoped they had lockers to put our bug luggage in because everyone in the room put their luggage on the floor and it was a mess . I wish they were more serious about their rules because it was really uncomfortable to see old naked guys walking in the hallway and no one was there to stop them . you can easily hear what people are talking on the street which made the room very loud at night.
i loved that I had my own personal space with the closed beds , I loved the self check in and check out, and the location right by the Vienna HBF .

SingaporeFor the shower facilities, there isnt any place to put your shampoo, body bath and etc. need to put on the floor while showering. You have to put in your own blanket and bedsheet cover.
Location was very good and near to the central train station! Temperature for the water shower is good too! easy to check in and the lobby is a great place to chill too! friendly staff too!

United KingdomIt was extremely hot when I stayed. Of course there was a heat wave outside but the building was quite bad with aeration/ventilating. And the wooden panel have very noisy when you pull it out an push it back.
I really enjoyed the privacy that the bunkbeds offered. It had a wooden panel to hide from the rest of the room, which was really useful. It was also nice to be able to leave stuff (like a luggage) on the day you check out until you are ready to go (for example during the afternoon).

GreeceBed sheet had a strange texture that made it stick. I had to use the blanket to cover it so I could sleep somehow. Found also some hair on the pillow, logically from the previous guest, and dust in the bed door's recess.

RomaniaFirst off there is quite a lengthy check in process, takes you around 5 minutes or more to complete Second the stairs to the beds are way too hard on the feet, the softening material literally has no use, there should be some kind of foam or soft material on each of the steps
The autonomous check-in without having to speak to anyone

United KingdomUnfortunately, this accommodation was not perfect and had many minor (yet very addressable) flaws. There are no lockers in the rooms. Your bed-pod functions as your locker, which means your valuables are safe, but you have to sleep with them on your bed. There are no ergonomic spaces to set up your laptop and get some work done. The seating areas are okay for socialising but terrible for your spinal health. The name "Do Step Inn Central" is misleading, as it is not central, and you must travel a bit to get to the good spots. Furthermore, the area does not seem the safest as many sketchy characters were hovering around the entrance at all hours. The sliding door of my bed got caught on my bedding several times. Finally, for all its impressive technological systems, these advancements caused problems too. For starters, the whole process felt very impersonal, and personally, I missed the human-to-human dynamic of welcoming staff members. And secondly, my check-in was the worst I've ever experienced. I couldn't connect to their wifi initially, which meant I couldn't fill out the form to get my code. After spending a lot of money on phone data, it still took a while for the information to register, meaning roughly an hour of frustration without anyone to ask for help. A bad start! My advice? Do the check-in process long before you arrive!!
If I were to summarise Do Step Inn with a word, it'd be "future". It's awe-inspiring how everything functions. Each guest is given a unique code which grants you access to the front door, your room door, and even your bed within your pod. It was unlike any hostel I've ever seen, and I was impressed with the experience. As you'd imagine with such mechanics, the hostel itself is very modern, including the deco. The main area was very aesthetically pleasing. There were loads of showers and bathrooms. Despite how many guests there were, I always found one available. I also met some very cool people here! The vibe was right!

SwitzerlandThe sheets unfortunately don‘t fit the bed, they have the wrong proportions for the mattess and cover, so if you prefer a covered bed and duvet it is best to bring your own.
After figuring the online chrck-in out it was super easy to check in at any time and drop bags and use the common spaces before the room is available. It is very close to the central station, clean and the kitchen is nice.

BelgiumThe room was very basic and the beds were really basic (more of a box with a mattress in it. Sound isolation was far from ideal, hearing everyone that passes in the hallway, which happens quite often in a hostel. This isn't necessarily problematic, certainly if you know what you sign up for, but for the price I expected a bit more comfort.
The check-in procedure offered a lot of autonomy and arriving early wasn't an issue due to the possibility to use the luggage room before check-in in time. It was nicely located, very close to Vienna Hbf, metro and tram station.

United KingdomSo many problems with the check in and the bed lock combinations. I had to wait an hour for the system to check me in as I could not use my code to unlock my bunkbed. Reception open late and closed earlier and so ifnu have any technical issues with your lock or codes, be prepared to problem solve you're self. They're no one to help you and customer support won't get back to till the next day
It's very clean and cozy.

PolandMy room was very small and I didn't like the idea of storing all my properties in the bed capsule. It was very uncomfortable trying to for example move my backpack or take some items out of it. A separate locker would be totally helpful to solve this inconvenience. A frequent issue I have with hostels is when there's few or no hangers in the bigger bathrooms with hairdryers etc. You always use bathroom taking all the stuff like towels, toiletry bag or pyjamas with you and it's really unpleasant when you have no choice but to put it on the floor.
The hostel has an incredible location, right next to the Hauptbahnhof and the U-Bahn station a few metres from hostel's door. Also it's quiet at night and I slept well. The price is reasonable. I went to Vienna to go to a concert and my stay was only for one night, so overall I'm happy with what I got.
