Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThere is no staff which means there is no Security. The area is full of homeless people and drug users who know there is no staff and will constantly try and succeed to enter the hostel. Bags were stollen and someone was robbed at knifepoint IN THE HOSTEL. They will stay in the lobby and threatened me if I didn’t let them in. Room 1 is completely unsafe as it is in the lobby. If you are a girl and staying there ask to change rooms if you can (there is no staff so good luck). Honestly just don’t stay here, it’s not worth it.
Good facilities but without security it isn’t worth it.

LithuaniaCreepy men were wandering around the hostel and around 9 of them tried to barge inside and we had to bang the receptionist's door to wake her up, as soon as she came out, they all ran. The receptionist called the owner of the place, he came did nothing but just yell at 2 of the homeless people and told us not to let any strangers in and left. I couldn't sleep properly because I kept walking up everytime i hear something out the door. The next day morning, when I went down to the lounge to have my breakfast, there were a couple saying how 2 men came in, opened the luggage storage and stole some luggage and left. Thankfully one family caught their's in action, but other ones are just gone. The city is beautiful but this experience alone didn't pass the whole safety check for the stay. They need to put curtains as the whole lounge area is fully visible to the outsiders and they look at us like we are some aquarium fish.. they also need to put someone in the reception for 24/7 as they have their main door open.
the room was okay according to the price

PortugalI stayed at this hostel for only two days, but I felt very unsafe. People who are not guests can easily enter since there is no security at the reception. I heard about luggage being stolen and even an incident where someone threatened a guest with a knife the night before I arrived. Additionally, there is a room located outside the secure access area, which increases the risk. While the location and facilities could be good, the lack of security makes it hard to recommend. Adding a security guard would greatly improve the experience.
The sheets and towels were clean and seemed to be new, but the pillow is hardly worth considering-it's practically nonexistent and serves no purpose.

CanadaThe day I got here, the pin for the main door didn't work. I had to contact them to get a new pin and had to wait until 3 p.m. to get my room number and pin. And the luggage storage door was just open; the pin didn't work. I've been staying in hostels for the majority of my trip, but this one has been the most horrific experience. When I read the reviews about homeless people in front of the hostel before booking, I didn't take it too seriously. But when something horrendous happened to my fellow roommate, my concerns started. My fellow roommate was robbed at knifepoint when she tried to come to the hostel room around 2:30 a.m. Homeless people somehow get inside, and there's no reception or security. Since it's all a pincode system, they just get in. They do not look homeless 90% because they have good shoes on, good jacket and also wear a backpack to make it look like they're also one of the people staying at the hostel. The very next day, my fellow hostelmates and I were sitting in the lounge. There was a homeless guy sleeping there, and we didn't want to wake him up, but he eventually woke up and tried to get inside the hostel to use the bathroom. When we didn't allow him to pass through, he threw his Coke bottle at the door, went outside, and started making gestures at us. Thanks to one of the other girls who speaks German (that's what they speak in Austria), who called the management to inform them of this, we were told to call the police. It took the police more than 30 minutes to come to the location, and that was after calling the second time. By the time the police arrived and we told them what happened, they drove around the hostel to look around and then left. After about an hour, 1 woman and 2 men were sitting right opposite to the hostel and was looking into our lounge as we were sitting.
The pin system is nice, and the kitchen is well-equipped. There's cleaning done every day.

EgyptI don't recommend this Hostel to any one, for safety reasons, it may reach to life safety. The doors opens by codes and no one from the stuff existing (only cleaning girl) strangers always enter after any guest before the doors close and they make troubles. I was staying only one night and the police came twice because of robbery happened and a man with knife threatened a girl. As for my experience I left my luggage for a couple of hours after I checked out (it was written that there is a place for luggage you kan keep them for a while) first the door lock of this place where broken and the Managment knew that, then when I came I found one of my gabs stolen and when we called them they said its not our responsibility. I then called the police and they investigated .... after a couple of hours the hotel sent me an email that my bag was found and is existing at another branch of the Hostel 20 mins by car far from the one we where staying, I went there found that all the valuable things are stolen. Conclusion ... even if leaving the bags is under our responsibility, fixing the storage lock is the Managment responsibility and written down everywhere that you can leav your luggage is also a responsibility, also being robbed in a branch and finding the bag in another branch is something need to be invested. I WILL SUE THEM.
Location is near to central station, but strangers and wired people always around entering the place cause a lot of troubles and danger.

GermanyI felt very unsafe! It was really easy for anyone to get inside. One evening my friend and i came back and there was a homeless person sleeping in the common room. He was drunk and tried to get into the hallway with the dorms. When we told people to keep the door closed and not let him in, he became aggressive, shouted and through his bottle at the glass door. That same evening there were more people, looking at us from through the glass wall of the common room and trying to get in. We were really scared and called the police. The night before three people had managed to come in and made their way to the first floor. They had a knife and robbed a girl that was checking out, trying to catch an early train. We informed the hostel about everything and i really hope they will improve the security. It was a scary experience and i am glad we left the next day.

New ZealandAWFUL - AVOID!!!! When we arrived there was human poop on the floor of the bathroom and a man was getting dressed in the hallway. Looking at other people's reviews this is not an uncommon occurrence - homeless people enter the hostel often as the security is poor and there are no staff onsite and the reception is only occasionally manned (during the day). The room itself was terrible - they place the unwashed duvet inners and pillows directly on top of the beds and you are expected to do the covers yourself, the only plug points are by the floor by the door - not near the bed or a table or anything. There's no lamp or anything. There was a misunderstanding with my booking and despite being told I could pay at reception with my card when I got to the reception I was told they did not accept card, nor did they issue receipts for cash payments. The communication was also slow and despite messaging about issues the previous night I only received a response at 12 pm the next day. The self check in system is also terrible with the website constantly crashing

BulgariaI have never seen such individual locking beds in a hostel. It really adds a sense of security especially when you go have shower. The location was perfect since I arrived late at night by plane and had a bus in front of HBF in 5 hours so worked out perfectly to "recharge" for a few hours.

CroatiaI really liked the hostel. Self-check-in is great, especially if you are coming late (like we). We booked a bedroom for 2 (+baby). it had basic stuff, but for us was enough. Toilets and showers are super clean! Kitchen also...and it has everything you could need for cooking....It is also big, we spent some time there after we checked out. We had to contact their online help, and they were readily available and very kind and helpful. Location was very good, we walked from there all the way to the center, it's not that far, and it is a nice walk. We were there on Sunday, and the shop on the train station was open (which is like 5min away). But on weekdays there is one next door. I would definitely stay there again.
