Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Hm ... very, very small things. We need a parking place, which is available for this accommodation. The payment for it had to be via a bank transfer. As I not from the EU, this transfer was basically more than the price for parking itself. It would be great to include this fee through the Booking.com payment for the flat. So, this is more an advice for Booking.com. My bedroom had two bed lamps, but they did not work, so the room was a insufficiently lit.
Linz was very cold these days, but the flat was was pretty warm. All necessary amenities are provided within the flat. Nice design.

The bed and couch were old/cheap and not very comfortable. There was a bad smell in the apartment. Most shops and restaurants are at least a 15 minute walk. There is no oven, microwave or toaster.
Elevator, quiet.

It needs to say on website that there is a lift to all floors but there are 10 steps up to each apartment. Anyone turning up in a wheelchair would have had problems.otherwise there was nothing to not like.
Easy to find, key box easy to locate as was the apartment. Did have an issue with the shower and bathroom plug but was resolved same day. Cleanest apartment we have rented in a long time and we do rent apartments often.

combination of superthin insulations, tin made dining table, poorly made flooring and “special” type of neighbours made our 2days stay far from enjoyable. we were on or toes moving through appartment the whole time, being as “ninja-like”as possible, leaving as soon as possible in the morning, and in combined total 4 hours of our active/awake time in 2 days stay there were 3 complaints from special neighbour.
great location, clean, modernist style furniture, superclear instructions, great parking options.

got an apartment that has a very bad smell in its bathroom! apparently the management knew about it, but chose to give rent out that apartment. the next day, I was moved to another apartment. however, tv was not working. overall, there was no compensation for all of this hassle. certainly not worth the money.

It didn't have a washing machine - the bathroom was very small-The noise from the street was too loud and it was annoying during sleep - the apartment did not have an air conditioner and the apartment was hot during the hot weather.

Everything was great. Maybe just to think about a purchase of a microwave oven in the kitchen.
The apartment was great. It was perfectly situated close to the centre. Everything was new a clean. Perfectly organized check-in and check-out. The communication with the flat owner was also perfect.

We stayed in the two bedroom apartment in June, 2022, for 3 nights and it is on the ground floor and very noisy--it's next to the main road along the Danube PLUS there is parking immediately adjacent to the apartment and people stand around and talk in parking lot. There is no air conditioning but when it is hot outside you can't open the windows because it is like sleeping next to the highway. ALSO they have the lowest possible wattage light bulbs--Very unfriendly lighting in this place. The kitchen was not well equipped. The door to the apartment does not fit properly into the frame you must get aggressive to open and close the door--if you get to the apartment late in the evening you'll have to slam the door hard and wake up the whole building.
The apartment had two comfortable beds and parking. there was plenty of space. The host was readily available

Modernly decorated room. The office answered all questions very promptly, you can get help from employees at any time. Very clean, large space. Convenient parking. We will definitely come again and recommend it to friends.
