We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyA really good family hotel with lots of nice things for the kids and parents. Breakfast and dinner are really good, the only problem is coffee. Many hotels nowadays even have a small coffee machine in the room, so you can have coffee very quickly and during the day if you want too. Here is even no self-service coffee machine at the breakfast - it's only served if you ask and the cups are really small. Another small complaint is that it was really loud on a late Sunday evening - there was a loud party outside at the back of the hotel, but it was really loud inside too. And parking. I booked a parking lot in the hotel, but on arrival the receptionist said that we have to park in ~1km away and walk from there. Later we learned that it was her mistake and we had a spot reserved for us, she just ignored it.

NetherlandsOur stay at the hotel was absolutely wonderful! It’s a perfect choice for families, with plenty of activities and amenities to keep everyone entertained. The pool area was a fantastic way to unwind after a long day on the slopes. We were initially hesitant about opting for half-board, but we’re so glad we did—the meals were exceptional! Both breakfast and dinner offered a wide variety of delicious options that catered to both adults and kids alike. The hotel’s location couldn’t be more convenient, with ski lifts just a short distance away. Plus, having parking on-site made it easy to drive to the lifts whenever we needed. If you're planning a family ski trip, this hotel is an ideal choice—highly recommend!

United KingdomIt would have been good to have tea and coffee in the room. There should also be more of a discount if you decide not to have dinner on a specific night and perhaps not be tied to only a couple of alternative places to eat instead. A friend turned up to meet us on one night and rather than miss the dinner to go somewhere else to eat with him we had to rush our dinner to be able to meet him afterwards. I think there is also a policy to not allow people to eat the dinner if they can‘t stay at the hotel. This isn‘t a big negative as I can understand the rules but it would have been good if there was amore flexible approach.
There was a good choice of food and it was good quality.

United KingdomIt felt like they were trying to cram everything into a small swimming space. They had a slide, a swim-up bar, an indoor jacuzzi and outdoor whirlpool as well as saunas. Each done ok - but could fewer have been done better?
Right in the middle of Seefeld with a (very tight) garage meant it was a great location. The food was very good (we were on the half-board option which included house wine and beer). The facilities are good and the staff were excellent.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing - it’s why we keep returning three years running….
Our third time at Das Kaltschmid - never disappoints. We unexpectedly timed our stay with the German school holidays and, although busy with families, the room was quiet and our stay and use of the facilities was unaffected. It’s a lovely hotel and the breakfast is to die for - absolutely amazing selection & friendly staff. The queue for the freshly made omelette is very worthwhile.

United KingdomThis is definitely a family hotel so if you don't like children around all the time it probably isn't the place for you. We enjoyed the vitality they added - though would have preferred it if they were not allowed in the outdoor whirlpool which has lovely views of the mountains and feels like a place for quiet contemplation.
Our room was well-sized and very comfortable with both sofa and table and chairs - we also had a small kitchenette, though we only used the kettle. The only thing lacking was a view from the balcony. Meals were excellent, as was the service - although occasionally the translations on the menu were a bit random! Plenty of excellent salads, bread and cheese as well, if you ended up with something unexpected. Staff were all friendly and helpful and the bar downstairs has plenty of life in the evenings. The pool area has great views of the mountains and is a good place to watch the sun go down, although it does get very busy in the hours before dinner. There is, however, a lovely adult-only relaxation room on the upper level if you want peace and quiet.

United KingdomOther than the heating being uncontrollable, nothing this hotel is great!
Hotel location is ideal, right in the centre, couldn't be better. From check-in to check-out everything went smoothly. Room - A little on the warm side, heating seemed to have a mind of its own, but nicely roomy with everything you would need, shower spot on, hairdryer included for those that need one! Breakfast was a feast with everything you would want for a breakfast including a chef to cook you the all important fried eggs/omelette. Pool is lovely and clean, great after a days skiing/hiking. Hot tub on the roof is a great touch, just gets a little busy with everyone trying to get in it.

United StatesSome of the areas in the hotel, e.g. the basement with the ping-pong, seemed to be not well cared for (walls, furniture), but overall we didn't spend much time there anyway. There didn't seem to be any enforcement of "quiet time" in the hotel. There were often loud groups of people roaming the halls at 2:00 AM, which didn't promote great sleep. Not so much the hotel's problem, but rather rude guests. Nitpicking: We did not like the shower layouts in either of the rooms. Especially in the single, the way the shower head is pointed towards the swinging glass, it was always making a puddle on the floor. To try to always keep it dry made for a very uncomfortable showering experience each time.
We loved the food quality and variety, both at the buffet and from the menu. We liked the complimentary dessert each day. The pool and sauna area were also well used and convenient. The kids enjoyed the ping-pong and pool tables, as well as the darts and pinball machine in the bar area. Staff, especially our waitress Tina, was very friendly and helpful, even during the rush of New Year's Eve. For the money we think this is a great bargain for the amount of activity and food available.

Super comfortable with also a swimming pool & hot tub Available which was great to use. GermanyHad a family next door with toddlers and small kids who didn't consider their neighbours when yelling at kids at 07.00 in the morning and let them run around the halls. Not the Hotels fault at all. I will mention that they also have an "adult only" part of the Hotel just around the corner at the main square. Might be worth considering if you're, like me, is a light sleeper.
Wonderful family hotel Superb breakfast/dinner Spa/pool/saunas very friendly and helpsome staff Perfect location, big rooms/bathroom Lots of areas to hang out and enjoy time with family and friends. I love it here. This was my second stay. Highly recommend

United KingdomCheck in was a nightmare, we had booked underground parking & completed the online check in prior to leaving England. When we arrived the reception , staff asked us to complete check in yet again and stated that we had not booked underground parking, by the time we had sorted it out a policeman arrived and fined me 25 Euros for illegal parking outside the Hotel, his comment was " we are always telling the Hotel to inform guests arriving about parking" The front desk then sent my wife to the wrong lift for our room which initially was confusing. If you are in room 485 take The main lift to The second floor then follow directions to a second lift back up to The 4th floor .The females on the front desk were excellent, the males were not so good
Good food & great choice for breakfast & Dinner, we had booked half board & were surprised to find that it included wine/ beer. The staff overall were excellent. The staff in the bar & Restaurant were very professional.

SwitzerlandThe matrasses on the bed were very soft. Better quality matrasses would have been great. The bathroom in the room was very small, there was barely enough space for one person. But we managed once to bathe the kids at the same time there. But not very comfortable. There were also no hooks in the bathroom for the bathrobes. Also is a pity that they made you purchase the house slippers if you wanted any. In general the kids facilities like the playroom could be bigger in size. But since we spent most of the day outside, it was ok. The pool itself is big enough for the kids, however, if it gets crowded, there is not enough places to put the things down or to sit down to watch the children. That was a bit awkward. One should only use the pool after everyone left for dinner in the evening to have a bit of space to sit down.
Breakfast was very tasty. The room was nice. We were 4 people (2 grown ups and 2 kids) in a Double Deluxe room. Since we only used the room for changing and sleeping, it was really enough for 4 people. What was great is that our room was on the same floor as the swimming pool, so we had a very short distance to the pool, which of course one appreciates when going there with kids. The kids playroom was quite small, but enough for our little ones since we did not use it much as we spent most of the day outside. The kids club was also small, but our kid seemed to like it very much as she was always asking to go there. The location of the hotel is also great. A grocery shop is right next to it and everything is within walking distance. The bar and the sitting areas are really nice and cozy.

United KingdomWe did feel that standards had slipped a little in the three years since we were last there - the staff at the front desk were fine but not as warm or welcoming as in the past. When we checked out, having paid a not unsubstantial amount of money for our stay, the member of staff seemed disinterested and did not even ask how our stay was. Also - and this is a big thing - the room we were in was almost directly above where live music is played every night, and was very loud. To their credit, the hotel offered to move us, but it was a bit of a palaver, so we stayed. The music was not quite so loud after two nights, but it's something to be aware of as it was virtually impossible to sleep on our first two nights (Thursday and Friday). Also, the half board menu is good value but for kids, the buffet is a bit limited and repetitive. There did not seem to be any option for children (or adults) to order a la carte, which would have been helpful at times.
The hotel's in a great location and the facilities are excellent. The spa is nice and the pool was fun. Breakfast is particularly good.
