Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The shower in the bathroom was small, but everything worked ok. Reminded me that I should work on getting smaller myself 🤣.
The accommodation is in a beautiful old building with a lovely garden courtyard. Excellent cycle storage. The staff were very friendly. The room was spacious. Breakfast was very good continental style (no prepared eggs).

the house and the location is marvelous - the host very charming and easy-going, the room (a single one) was very big and well equiped, so was the bathroom, beautiful view from the window especially nice were also the birds, in a huge birdcage in the entry, wonderful terrasse and outdoor sitting

While there are plenty of drinking options in September Stein has limited dining options after 6pm midweek.

Lots of stairs to get to the upper rooms, but that‘s the charme.
Everything. It is a historic, very lovely house with lots of plants with its own charme. The owners and the staff are exceptionally friendly and the breakfast was great.

There is enough natural birdsong there, so I was puzzled by the caged birds at the entrance. The room was as expected for an old place, but still dated (I prefer no worn carpet, and furniture was not ideal, though bed was comfortable.) The bathroom was clean and it was very spacious. The bike storage was large enough and secure.
The best part about this Guesthouse is the unique atmosphere. For history lovers it is quite interesting to be able to stay overnight in a property with roots to the 1500s, and the courtyard and roof terrace had a mysterious atmosphere. The breakfast had everything.

Behind the big door to the street is a magical courtyard - a unique atmosphere you would not guess from the outside. Big storage area for bikes, spacious and comfortable room included a mini fridge, breakfast was very good, host was vivacious and friendly.

There were no issues
The historic building is quite a sight on its own; our clean and cosy room featured a mini-bar, and most importantly to be mentioned, both employees and guests were spreading good vibes thanks to the lovely Mrs Einzinger. Fully recommend!

For some reason the aviary enclosure in the entrance to the central courtyard was a bit off putting both for the noise but also for the whole notion of caging animals o what end?
Full of character but not old and tired….nicely updated but still very authentic. Good breakfast, very nice staff and a nice, quiet central location made it very good value, indeed, still after almost a quarter century after our first visit in 1999!

Supperb setting -- extremely charming old building, and everything is perfectly maintained and functional. The host also made sure that I could charge my e-bike alhough the battery is built-in the bike.

It was my first visit to Krems and I was looking for some accommodations close to the university. I didn't have high expectations, but I was really impressed by this house, the neighborhood, and the atmosphere of feeling like being at home.

the curtains didn't make the room dark. the bathroom had no shampoo in the shower
