Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomHaving a small refrigerator in the room would have been a nice addition, but its absence isn't a deal-breaker.
The room is generously sized, with beautiful fittings and a very comfortable bed. Don't be deterred by the bathroom layout; the toilet is separately enclosed by its own door, and a large curtain can be drawn to fully separate the bathroom area from the bedroom.

United KingdomNothing to dislike. The hotel is perfect.
What can you say? This hotel has everything you need for a city break in Vienna. Beautifully decorated, Josefine is cosy with a modern take on classic themes. We had a cosy room, tastefully decorated and well equipped with a comfortable bed and plush decor. A beautiful separate shower and WC, and hand basin in the room made it feel like we had taken rooms in 1920s-era Vienna. We loved the Roberts radio and the ability to stream music. When in the room we listened to Austria's Classic-Radio which added to the ambience of the room. Downstairs you have the Phonotek room, where you can get a drink or a coffee whilst perusing the vast vinyl collection ad playing some bangers. We liked some of the old German records especially ones by James Last and the extensive range of disco floor fillers. We also like piped 1920s-1930s music around the hotel. And that's the thing about Josefine, the little details. The key for your room and the key fob; the bottle of wine to great you; the coffee in the Phonotek room whilst you wait for your room; the dressing gowns and slippers; the little notebook they give you so you can record your stay. All these little things make Josefine different along with the ability to step back in time. Amazing location - 30 minutes from the Airport by Taxi. Everything close like buses, U-Bahn and shops. Breakfast at Josefine is a ritual of the highest standard. You'll have to book and after you have been seated by the lovely staff. We had the standard breakfast included and you get the widest range of options from omelettes, salmon platters, Viennese porridge, toast, beautiful local bread (including Gluten Free Options), bacon and eggs and continental options. There are additional options available such as Eggs Benedict at extra cost. All presented on an afternoon tea stand. Staff are totally brilliant, so helpful and lovely. Amazing level of service.

It was really something different form regular hotels that I have been before. All the details and concept is very highly planned and executed. Design, stories behind and legacy comes out on every step. Breakfast is great part of morning rituals to start the day. Happy and hope to be back again

IrelandWe didn’t have breakfast included and opted one morning to have breakfast in Hotel-it was fine but not worth €50 for 2.
A step back in time to Art Deco delight.A modernised hotel designed with more than a nod to its art deco roots. Our room was medium sized but cleverly designed. The location is perfect-walking distance to main attractions-35 mins or a hop on the underground nearby. The basement cocktail bar was a wonderful addition for a special nightcap.

United KingdomThe hotel bar is fantastic, but when open, crowds spill onto the other spaces like the phonoteque , so there's no room for guests to be.
The hotel is beautiful, very well decorated. Staff was super welcoming and info was clear and helpful. I booked a single room and it was far larger than expected, extremely quiet and the bed very comfortable. An unusual level of quiet for a hotel with a popular bar downstairs.

United KingdomThe location isn’t necessarily bad, but it is approximately a 30 minute walk to the ‘old town’ where we ended up wanting to spend most of our time.
The hotel has beautiful decor and feel with its 1920’s theme. It was also extremely clean and well looked after. Finally, the staff were very friendly and helpful!

IrelandOnly criticism is cocktail bar is small and therefore you may have to wait for a seat at weekends ..even as a resident in hotel...
The whole ambience of this hotel brings you to a bygone era of decadence a little oasis of 1920 glitz..

United StatesWe had breakfast at the restaurant and it could have been better. But honestly, it was not a an issue and getting areound the city is so easy on the subway that you can explore food option with ease.
Perfect location. 5 minutes walk to the subway station which runs flawlessly and gets you everywhere you would want to go in 10-15 minutes. The theme is 1920s and it is carried through out the entire hotel with impeccable attention to details. There is a room filled with vinyl records for guest to play music and hangout if they want. Inside the hotel there is popular bar with a selection of hundreds of whiskeys but it does not interfere with the guest experience . The staff was very friendly. It is also perfect to add some charming pictures to your Instagram!

GermanyWe enjoyed the breakfast. Thanks for the wine - a gift from the hotel on arrival. The ladies at the reception were excellent and helped us to get an answer to all questions. Our room was rather small and dark compared to the pictures. I had an opportunity to check other rooms as well and if you book a higher room category, it shall be as per the pics. The location is just superb! The parking facilities (special price offered by hotel 16 € / 24 hours) were great. We traveled with an EV and the indoor parking space (Parking called MaFü) had 4 charging stations (11 kWh).
