Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe bar/lounge area is a bit tight and not very warm and cosy. It’s ok though and there is an open fire.
Great location. Close to piste and ski shop. Good boot room. Clean, tidy, friendly hotel. Great spa. Decent buffet and evening meal.

The hotel was excellent. The welcome was brilliant. All the staff were so helpful. I have stayed in many resorts in the area and this was as good as any. The food was plentiful and tasty. I have coeliac and they catered for my gluten free with great care. Cannot rate this hotel highly enough

United KingdomWe loved everything!
The location of the Josl Hotel is excellent. Our room was lovely and spacious with plenty of storage, hangers and hooks to accommodate and store all our ski wear. We had a large balcony, that we very much enjoyed using and the room had good coffee making facilities. We loved the welcome chocolates too! The breakfast and dinners in the hotel are fabulous. We couldn't believe how much choice there was and everything was delicious. We also loved 'The Hut' we were allocated for our 4 day stay, it made our trip very special. Mark in the restaurant looked after us brilliantly, answering all our questions and helping us choose and try some lovely Austrian wines. All the staff we encountered from Annette in the bar area to all the reception staff and the great house keeping team were wonderful and friendly and really made our stay.

United StatesAlmost nothing…
I really enjoyed my stay in Josl, even as a solo traveler who doesn’t speak German. The location is perfect, with a very short walk to the gondola. The rental shop is next door. The ski room is conveniently located on the ground floor, with a shortcut to the gondola. The decoration is modern, room is very clean. Staff and guests are super friendly, and provided all the advices to a guest who didn’t do any homework. The biggest hit is the half board food. Oh my gosh, that’s something I had never imagined to be included in the room rate. The two meals and snacks have $$$$ value if it would be in the U.S.

AustraliaSpa area I don’t do no clothes except in Japanese onsens, so cant talk about the nude section, but the pool and infra red sauna was lovely. Only complaints A) the pool is a bit cold, one of the great things in japan is the amazing HOT pools you can sit in with the snow falling on you, you can do that here but the pool is a bit to cold for it to be as pleasant as it should be. They need it to be about 3 degrees warmer. B) Pool area and especially the steps are very very very slippery.DO NOT wear the slippers here go bare foot. There is no handrail either. We saw 3 people have bad falls, I think one guy probably broke a rib and subluxed his shoulder. The wife of this chap spoke to reception and said they were uninterested. They need grip tape and a handrail, i can see someone having a bad fall, if elderly it would be a good way to break a hip. Laundry They need a coin operated washing machine, the in house service is crazy priced 4 people week of laundry would be over 200$ aud. We washed the clothes in the bath. Apart from the expense hotels always destroy your ski clothes with the dryer. Wine To be fair i don't know the region, but its all very expensive. A few i did recognise were 60 euro ( aud 100$) i buy for 25$ in aus. Just get wine and spirts from the lower supermarket in town. Great selection good prices spirits very cheap. Have pre dinner drinks in your rooms drink water at dinner. Food on the mountain very expensive ( burger and beer will set you back about 40$ aud ) but the food in the hotel is so plentiful you don’t need to eat lunch on the mountain
Overall a great ski hotel. Two things though to get correct as I tried to research prior to coming and got incomplete answers.neither deal breakers 1. This place is NOT ski in ski out. 2. There is NOT a laundry you can use. Location Good location overall NOT ski in out so if you are a princess about this don't stay here. In the morning you walk up some stairs to the outside and walk about 150 to the gondolas Rosskabahn anf Hohe Mutt 1 for access. Its a flat walk but a little icy so be careful. Coming home peel off left on the run down to the gondolas theres an exit where the ski school meets and you are 50m from the boot room. So not ski in out but its fine unless you are a princess. Ski room Well organised Individual boot hangers for each room, all warmed so boots are dry by morning. Ski positions for groups of room eg 301-315 plenty of room never had an issue. Very slippery if you are in the hotel slippers do not wear them here or risk a fall. Rooms We were on the 3rd floor( these are the best rooms) and had a lovely room with a great view, lovely cleaning staff. Daughters had one on the 2nd floor which was great friends. Food In short very very good usual breakfast fair, 6 course dinner with good options and “ afternoon snack” 🤣 between 3-5pm soup second hot option salads cold meats and cakes. Don’t bother with lunch just eat when you get back. Night club Lots of complaints I've seen in reviews it didn't bother us on the 3rd and second floor and we were above it Staff Lovely hospitable people Over all a great stay would go back and was pretty good value for money once you take into account the food. Get a washing machine for guests to use and heat the pool a bit more and id give you a ten Supermarkets Spar very close more expensive not as good a selection The lower town supermarket 10 min walk great selection cheaper great alcohol options, shop there. Resturants Expensive get a stay with food included or get an apartment and self cater

United KingdomI would recommend that the dining room and guest room temperatures be taken down a bit. It was sometimes too warm. Also, entrance to the Josl Keller apres bar (located in the basement of the hotel) can be a little noisy late at night (the bar stays open until 3am). This can disturb hotel guests.
The quality, location, food & drink and service at the Josl Hotel thoroughly met our requirements. We were a group of 6 adults so the Adult Only status was good for us. We arrived New Years Eve which is also my wife's birthday. The hotel New Years Eve programme included a 7 gala dinner and disco in the hotel bar. At midnight there were fireworks. All in all a fantastic holiday. Special mention to Mark, our waiter, who made our mealtimes (breakfast and dinner) very enjoyable.

United KingdomThe afternoon tea is odd as a nice spread of food is provided but absolutely no drinks. Not even tap water, tea or coffee without paying. This seems strange considering the offer of drinks at breakfast which are all complimentary and coffee machines in rooms. It would be nice if at least water, tea and coffee were provided to go with afternoon tea.
