Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyI was asked to upload pictures of my ID and myself to Checkin in advance and receive access codes on some website outside booking. Just moments before I arrived to Linz it was rejected because the pictures were blurry. I was traveling the whole day.. Later some SMS Service claimed I was checked in but the website didn't show access codes. Contact options are WhatsApp, 24/7 calls or write emails to an unknown address. I was still traveling almost at the accommodation and didn't prefer waiting any longer. It took 2h after regular stated Checkin before I entered the room. Instructions were very confusing - the outside door has 2 keypads and none of the codes worked until somebody let me in
Liked the area, if there's no fair around it can be quite though outside main attractions of the city Someone was renovating the room next door very early but the interior was okay

UkraineHIGHLY NOT RECCOMEND!!!Was very ugly and uncomfortable to stay here. A lot of dust, dirty furniture and kitchen, the smell of smoke in the bathroom, the floor in the bathroom was not clean and with hair from everywhere (if you know what i mean). It is absolutely not clear why the price is so high. Have stayed in Austria and Germany for the same price and experience was good. Also it was hard to find the hotel and address in the booking and real one was different. It is the church near hotel and the bell was ringing every 15-30 minutes and very loud in 6 a.m. Also the light in the room was very low (what is usually done when the room is not cleaned enough). The light was so low that in the kitchen part we used flashlight. Also 1chair and table. Where 2 person shoud seat for lunch? No soundproofing. Bedsheet was ugly and uncomfortable. Have more photoevidence for above described in case owner wants to check. Was sleeping with open window in winter to have at least some freshness...

GermanyIt was exceptionally hard to find, as it is a one room flat inside a residential house and I couldn‘t reach someone over the given phonenumber. After 5 minutes in the queue I hung up. The bedsheet had holes and spots. The showerheads looked really dirty. The bathroom smelled of drainage. One lamp was broken. And when I arrived, the radiator was turned on, while the window was open.
Spacious and a small kitchen

NetherlandsOne of the worst experiences ever: it's necessary to check in online in order to get codes to access the building and the apartment. I tried to check in at 11h on the arrival day but their system doesn't work on a mobile browser (the website needs to take a picture of you and, even if my browser is allowed to access the phone camera, their website couldn't take a picture). I wrote them and then started a serious of useless emails (either with the information I already had or asking the wrong documents) and, even if I was supposed to receive the codes by 15.00, it was only after 19.00 and after waiting outside in the rain and calling that they gave me the codes. Besides, the instructions for the front door don't match the actual door, so I only could get inside the building because someone else opened the door.

GermanyThere was a lamp missing, but i think it might be that i requested for a darker room.
It was good. The location was a little hard to find, but Austria is to be blamed for it. The room was exactly I asked them to be, dark , muted colors.

MexicoThe windows faced a courtyard frequented, especially by the cleaning staff, and beginning 6 am until late there was loud talking and smoking. I actually had to close my windows to keep me room free of the smell and noise. The building facility outside of the room has filthy carpets everywhere. I was never able to use my tv. I like to listen to music and stream Netflix. I contacted the property management service who oversees this rental and was very specific about the problem. They are probably in another country and are not well equipped to really solve certain issues. The modem was missing lights indicating that the tv was not hooked up properly. After 4 nights and several contacts, still, although they said that they would have staff on site look into the problem, nothing ever happened.
The location is excellent. The room was clean and the kitchen well equipped. The bed was comfy.

United KingdomThe self check in didn't work. So called them and they just kept sending me new codes. My phone was dying and I needed the toilet. Couldn't activate the WiFi as the room hadn't been opened. There was no staff at all to come and help. They said they were sending someone to help but nobody came. I was stranded in a foreign country alone. They then text me saying they were cancelling the booking and would pay up to a certain amount for somewhere else. It was very difficult to find somewhere else at that time then I couldn't get a taxi to the new location and ended up crying in the street. I do not recommend them

United KingdomLiterally, everything was bad: - The address was incorrect. It took me 40 minutes to find how to get in and the help centre confirmed that the address of the place is wrong. - The window in the apartment was broken. - Slow customer support. I had to wait about 10-15 minutes for them to respond. - The room was dirty. See the pictures attached. - I stated I am there for business. But, there was no iron upon request... - The hotel is heavily overpriced...
The location in the city was proper. The room design was nice. Not far from the tram station.

Czech RepublicAlthough I had no serious problem with accessing the hotel, I realize some people can be confused with the following: 1) The address on Booking.com is incorrect - the hotel is situated at Schullstrasse 3, not Friedrichstraße 4. 2) At the entrance to the building, there are two door entry systems without labeling which of them is Lime Hotel. It can be also confusing that the code for entering the building is keyXXXX (where XXXX are digits) and there are only digits buttons. I didn't immediately realize that instead of clicking the word "KEY", I have to press the button with the key symbol. 3) I find two room access codes unnecessary. For the first time ever, I had to use a nine-digit code. After that, I only used a four-digit code for all subsequent entrances. I don't understand why the four-digit code cannot be the only one used.
After reading several comments of previous quests about problems with accessing their rooms, I was a little bit worried. However. I read the carefully instructions in the received e-mail and had no serious problems with finding and accessing the hotel (for more see comment in section Negative). The hotel is near the center (ca 5 mins by walking to Hauptplatz), next to the Ars Electronica Centre and Urfahrer Josefskirche. The room was amazing - clean, spacious, with a fan, fridge, and stove. I appreciate an extension cable. Some previous comments mentioned guests´ dissatisfaction with the Josefkirche bells (yes, it beats every 15 minutes, but I liked it). My room´s windows were to Schullstrasse with many trees, so it was like windows to a courtyard. There are only self-check-in and self-check-out. I had no problem with it. When I contacted the hotel service via Booking.com chat, I very quickly received a response.

United KingdomChurch bells 50 yrds from the room that ring from 5am onwards. They actually play a musical arrangement at 6am. If you're an early riser, great. If not, then even the ear plugs provided won't save your beauty sleep!
Good information, provided early by the operators. Good access to facilities and into town via team. Clean, tidy room and basic necessities provided like coffee, tea.

BulgariaIn this case, limehome Linz Friedrichstraße was not a hotel, but a room in a block of flats. There was no reception and I had to get the access codes over the internet. Very often I pay for just such rooms and hotels that have no reception through Booking.com. So far, for all of them - in Italy, Portugal, Spain and other countries, either the access code was sent to me or a person was waiting for me in front of the flat block at the appointed time. In this case, things were much more complicated. In the beginning, I had to upload a scan of my passport. Then the program had to photograph my face. The photographing itself was elementary. However, I had to change the settings on my phone to allow it to take a picture of me. A person without the appropriate technical training cannot do this. The last was that I had to sign off. Without a special monitor pen, this is a very difficult task. After four or five unsuccessful attempts, I managed to sign out and only then did I get the correct address and the code of the flat. If I knew that I will go through this internet hell, I would have looked for another hotel. I guess other customers also have complained about this program. Booking.com is also to be blamed because it may note on this hotel's website that check-in is very difficult. This will save the Booking.com customers quite a bit of nerves, and they won't be looking for compensation from your company afterwards.
The room was good and very clean.

Austria- It's not easy to find the building -_- It takes time to find the building entrance as it is in inside streets with no signs at all. - The key board for entering the codes for the building and the room doesn't respond fast always. - The liquid soap in the bathroom was extended with water too much that it's not soap anymore -_- I had to use the shower gel on the sink instead. - There is a church next to the building and its bells ring frequently so if your sleep is sensitive like mine, you need ear plugs otherwise you will be awaken too many times during the night. - There is no safe or locked closet/room where you can leave your baggage after checkout. I had to take my handbag with me the whole day after checkout.
- The location is nice, next to the Danube river so pretty convenient for a nice walk + close enough from the city main square. - The room is small but you have everything you need for a short stay. - The room was clean enough.
