It was not very clean... The floor with the carpet looked disgusting. The showerhead was moving always to the Wall and couldnt be fixet on one point.

Its the cheapest around in this small town.

We liked everything, but to become perfect a few things I found in other hostels were missing. What about putting a guitar in the common room, or table tennis or table soccer? But that are just suggestions. We loved the place really.

PhiliPop-Up Hostel is in an old traditional Austrian "Gasthof" The Ambience is great and everything is clean and well equipped. The check in and out was easy andbl we enjoyed our stay very much

For us, this was great! But some might find it a quiet town (might have something to do with arriving on Christmas). There is no desk to ask questions etc. However, host replies quick to messages. For people who dont have access to roaming-free mobile data: Wifi might be a challenge.

Great location. Easy self check in and out (instructions provided via message). Bonus, is that you also get a pass from the hostel (Plateau Card), which allows you to travel for free in Seefeld. This was amazing! Train station Scharnitz is literally a 3 min walk away. Hostel was walking distance to a great mountain hike. Surrounded by mountains when you wake up. Clean room. The heating was on when we entered. Everything worked perfectly. Hostel looks just like pictures. You can use the kitchen any time. Especially appreciated the water cooker.

I think a small "Info Station" (in lieu of a human concierge) would have been helpful to let guests know which local restaurants were open, where to park bicycles, etc., i.e. to provide answers to Frequently-Asked Questions.

This hotel is located an easy walk from the Scharnitz train station and perfect for vacationers who are starting out on the Isarradweg (Isar River Cycling Path) on a cycling tour or for hikers seeking an escape into the Karwendel mountains. From the front door of the hotel, your adventure awaits! This hotel offers a great alternative to the overpriced hotels in Seefeld and Mittenwald. I chose this location specifically so I could start off my cycling trip with an early-morning ride up to the "Isar Ursprung" --- the source spring feeding the Isar River. (Everyone has seen those guys surfing the standing waves in Munich, right? Now it's time to see where all that water comes from). Self-check in was provided in a detailed email message which was very clear and precise. I got into my room within 90 seconds of arriving at the hotel by using the key safe. The room was clean and provided all the necessities I needed for an overnight stay, with a view of the mountains through the window. The shared kitchen area came in handy for heating up some leftovers I had carried with me on my journey from Innsbruck.

During our one-night visit we had no warm water. But I would assume this to be solved by now. Was quite a bit more expensive compared to our other stays this holiday.

Unique interior/design. Lots of room. Very clear check-in/check-out instructions (In general, communication in English went great). There was some sort of open bar concept, which was a nice extra. Nice location. Nearby bar is very nice.

Shared kitchen felt abandoned and it was hard to cook. There were no kettle to make tea, so we boiled water in pot. Only one pot will work on induction cooker. Plates don't fit in the microwave oven. There were no dishwash soap to clean plates and kitchen sink was clogged and we couldn't find anything to clean it. Sure the place will impove over time.

We liked our rooms. They were tidy and comfortable. We had a great check-in experience. Location is great!

Very good location as a base for hiking in that region. Philipp responded super fast to questions. The room was cosy and we slept very well. The kitchen and common area on the ground floor are super big. Would definitely stay again!

I was not treated as badly for some time... A few hours after we have left I've received a call from the owner stating that he cannot find a key. Before he has written to me: 'please just leave the keys on the table in the room'. And I have done so. I told him that I have left it there but that out of courtesy I will search all my belongings. And after searching I confirmed that I do not have the key because I have left it on the table in the room. To what he replied that he will be sending me an invoice for the key!!! Other things: - the shared kitchen was poorly equipped (pots not suitable for induction but hobs only induction; no kettle; no bowls...) - it was cold in the room - the wifi was not slow, it was non existent (We have received a message that there is a wifi, but slow. That was misleading.) - before check in I have received 5 very long messages. One concise message would have been better
