Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWish there were a bit more hot food for breakfast. There isn't a fridge or kettle in the room, so it would have been nice to have this to have an evening tea or even get snacks for lunch the next day. If you don't have your own car, this place is a bit far and can be expensive with taxis to and from the city centre.
The place was peaceful, clean and had the best view! So great to see the sunrise and sunset in one location! We had a family room where there was a separate bed for my son and it was perfect! We had dinner at the restaurant and it was very delicious. Staff were helpful and friendly!

United StatesThe HILL, however, no hill-no views. Overall, it's a decent trade. Small rooms and no elevators. I would not recommend this hotel for people with mobility problems. This hotel is OK for young people, having a vehicle solves a lot of problems. If you like staying remote and have fantastic views, this hotel is for you. If you plan site seeing as we did, this hotel is not the best choice. Making daily trips down the hill with cars driving very close to you is a little scary. Also, it's hard to catch a taxi back to the hotel after 21:00, and it's costly too. Just make sure that you have your eyes wide open when making reservations. I wish we had done it.
Location is good for people with a car, we didn't have one. Hotel is a few miles away from the center, up on a steep hill. I have no idea how people are getting there with a foot of snow on the ground; I wouldn't even try. Views are fantastic for quests that reserved a room with a view, but just good sitting on the patio while enjoying an overpriced drink. Sunrise and sunset are amazing. Every day we went down this hill and took a bus to the city (about 20 min walk on a narrow road with no sidewalk, so be very careful), then about 20 min bus ride. On the way back we had to take a taxi, there is no other way to get to the hotel. If you plan to go to the city, add about 25 euro every day for the RT transportation. Hotel doesn't have an elevator, however staff offered us help with the luggage to the 3rd floor. Hotel is rustic, but probably this is how it's supposed to look. I believe family owned and operated. Rooms are small, furnished with cheap IKEA furniture. Breakfast is very good-fresh fruit, pastries, bread, just to name a few.

EstoniaThe road to the hotel was quite narrow and in the dark it was a bit creepy. Maybe to put some small decorative lights on the trees to make the road more visible or something.
It was amazing! The place, our room, the view, breakfast, people! We really loved everything about this place!

SingaporeThere is no lift and we were allocated to rooms on the 2nd floor which meant that we had to carry our luggage up 2.5 flights of stairs, and down when we checked out. Also everyday we had to go up n down these stairs, not something for seniors like us (age 65 - 72) . The drive up to reach the hotel was most challenging and we had to do that drive up and down the narrow 2-way steep slope several times. Some traffic signals or mirrors to help detecting on-coming traffic would be most helpful. Twice we had to back down the entire slope because of on-coming traffic that suddenly appeared. Dirty blanket covers were found in 1 room but no staff took notice and was not changed throughout the 3-day stay.
Excellent view from hotel window/balcony of the Salzburg city. We had a gorgeous view of the sunset even from our window. City lights plus the after glow of sunset was great. We had breakfast everyday and the spread was good. Dinner available only on one night (which happened to be our last night of stay) and the food and service was good.

AustraliaThe room was slightly dirty upon arrival (eg. Hairs on pillow and in the bathroom)
The views and grounds were spectacular, it was the main reason we chose this location as we wanted a space that felt like a retreat which it did amongst the trees.

CanadaThe only thing I missed was air conditioning. We had to leave the window open overnight and, although silent and dark, it did not provide the perfect night sleep I was looking for. Because it was October, the air outside was cool and helped. I'm not sure if I would be able to stay there during the summer high heat...
The location is incredibly beautiful, overlooking Salzburg and the mountains around it. The property itself is beautiful, you feel like staying on a postcard. Breakfast is amazing, everything you want, and lots of delicious food you didn't even know you wanted to try. The staff is friendly and professional. The water pressure in the shower is another plus.
