Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I really don't have any complaints.
The location was fantastic, as we were very close to all the main attractions in Vienna (St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Hofburg Palace, Rathausplatz with one of the most beautiful Christmas markets, the Vienna Museum of Art History, the Albertina Museum, etc.). The breakfast was another big highlight – hearty, varied, and delicious. Regarding the room, I appreciated that it was cleaned daily, and we received a complimentary bottle of water and tea every day.

Small hotel well run team doing what it does really well and quietly going about their business. What's not to like!!
Hotel Secession - just along from same named exhibition gallery and nachmarket in excellent location to explore city centre shops of all sorts. Close to transport links with cafes, restaurants, markets, museums all easily reachable by foot. Staff were all very polite and responsive, breakfast team, receptionists and house staff all excellent, helpful and respectful team here. Unassuming professional quality set up here with everything you need for breakfast with quiet and comfortable rooms. Nice gift for birthday (provided with local sparkling wine gift was delicious ). Thanks Secession Team!!

sometimes you can hear loud neighbors behind the wall
Great location, close to all the main attractions, very clean, two rooms with a small kitchen, excellent cleaning, a liter bottle of mineral water every day. Many thanks to Martin at the reception, his advice helped us a lot. It was an unforgettable holiday in Vienna!

The location is excellent - a couple of minutes from the subway and an easy stroll into the city centre. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The room was spotlessly clean, and had all the facilities we needed to make our four-night stay comfortable.

Spacious comfortable room and bathroom, all very clean and well appointed. Location was perfect for our Karlskirche concert, Christmas market and walking to other key sites. Staff friendly and helpful.

Water pressure should be a little bit more and one day the cleaners left the window open all day. It needed more time to warm the room again.

The location is perfect. The rooms are so comfortable. Breakfast is more then enough and the stuff is helpful. Just there is not much facility if you’d like to have some time in the hotel and it’s a bit old fashion hotel not brand new. But matched my expectations and prices are really good for what you have.

It took time for the water to be warm and the pressure was not really satisfactory
Good location, very nice staff , very charming hotel. The room was cleaned every day and a bottle of water, tea and coffee were also provided every day. It was very cold outside and the room was very warm and cosy.

The kitchenette didn't have any cooking pans, dishes or utensils. We only used the refrigerator during our stay, and when my husband asked cleaning staff for forks and knives, they were very quick in bringing them, but wished it had been included in the room.
The room was excellent, perfect sized for a family of 4. I was actually surprised there were 2 bathrooms! It was quite spacious with a nice kitchenette. The location was good, close to the market and within walking of lots of attractions.

Breakfast cost seemed high so didn’t try it
Central location near to the metro station and able to walk to lots of the attractions we wanted to visit. Area around the hotel felt very safe and we were warmly welcomed by the staff. Our room was large and very comfortable bed. Bathroom was well equipped and spacious. Nice to have tea and coffee making facilities, small fridge and a bottle of water each day which was lovely. Had one drink from the bar which was a similar price to places locally. All in all I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Lots of bakeries and shops nearby as well.
