Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Very nice beds. There are curtains, so it feels very private and comfy. Location is reachable by foot from city center. One thing, the shower was a bit dirty, since water didn't dry off there through the night

The beds are super comfy! There is a nice kitchen and two showers, so there was never a queue. One problem is there were only not enough sockets.

The showers were shared with everyone and not super clean. The kitchen was really outdated and not really inviting

The accodomation was fine, only one guest in my room was a lil loud with her computer... What was bothering me a lil, but other than that i was satisfied.

The heating was off we sleep with sweatshirts at night.
Self check in is good we only entered our room with codes there was a clean bathroom for hostel, shampoo/gel, hair dryer. towels, clean linens, enough space in our room. the location was good easy to reach by subway. everything is good for a cheap hostel

I think the single room should have been cheaper
Price was fair and the room was comfortable. Shower was nice too. I stayes in the october suite.

Loud groups talking in common area late into the evening (11.30pm both nights I stayed) which could be heard clearly from rooms. Booked a 6 bed but was in a 4 bed so no atmosphere at all. "Kitchen" not fit for preparing food, old and dirty.
Curtain on the bunk gave privacy. Shower was nice and hot.

Finding the rooms is still a riddle through the ground floor labyrinth.
Everything like last year - good location, comfortable beds, well fitted, clean... and bathrooms are full with shower gel and shampoo.

Nice location, and lots of independent restaurants nearby. Not that close to the city but with this price you can't complain. Also Pauline was lovely and upgraded my friend and I to a twin room.

Wifi cut out a bit and the location wasn't very central with not much around but was easy to get to with public transport.
It was a nice hostel and very clean. There weren't many showers but I went in winter so it wasn't very busy so this wasn't a problem.

There’re only two shower rooms, maybe it’s crowded
It’s good value. The hostel is near the station and it’s in quiet residential area.

The check-in area seems a little bit run down. The common area (corridors and staircases) looks a bit old and slightly shady.
The location is quite okay. The room is fine: basic and clean. The heating works fine in December. The staff is very friendly and kind.

Bath times are regulated and the water heater was a bit out of whack and occasionally got very hot all of a sudden. The women's dormitory has almost no WiFi and even the signal is poor.
I booked it on the day of the impromptu and it was actually pretty good, completely self-check-in and you can store your own luggage.

loved the place and for the price I paid it was great! Clean and very thoughtful place, with lockers and keys provided. Also really appreciate how thoughtful the place was, from the slippers to locker and even the storage space for guests to leave luggage before check in and after check out. One of the best hostels I have been probably and would definitely recommend and come back if I’m ever in vienna :)

There was nothing to complain about
The curtains provided enough privacy and the bunk bed was not cramped and spacious enough, so that it was comfortable to sit up. The location was a bit far for the city center, but it was possible to walk there. Overall, it was a good value for money. I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel.
