Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The location (within walking distance from the train station, the ski rental and Planai Stadion Lift). We loved the design and the cleanliness of the superior room with balcony and the after ski spa. Both the breakfast and the à la carte dinner are delicious. Friendly, professional staff.

GermanyThe lack of air conditioning kind of defeats the purpose of the blackout curtains and the pretty good sound isolation, as we ended up keeping the balcony door open almost all the time to get at least some fresh air. There is no AC in any of the Schladming hotels, as far as we saw, but it would still be a huge improvement if the hotel decides to install it. The main thing we felt really uncomfortable with were the smokers. The ground floor restaurant has ash trays and there is very often someone smoking there. And although our room was on the 2nd floor, we had a really hard time balancing the need for fresh air and the need to rush and shut the balcony door to keep the smoke out. It would be perfect if the smokers had a separate area a bit further from the rooms to smoke, otherwise it's quite a challenge for non-smokers. The bathroom is really tiny. This is something you should definitely keep in mind, if you're used to a spacious bathroom at home. So no sharp movements, or you'll constantly bump into things.
The location is great: very close (ca. 7 min walk) to the Planai cable road, the local shopping center, and the bus stop for buses to Dachstein and other destinations. The room was quite spacious, we also had a balcony with a nice view. The bed was rather soft which is really great, as our backs didn't hurt like in other hotels. Good blackout curtains. The breakfast was good, with a lot of cold cuts, cheeses, vegetables, cereals, a couple of warm dishes, yoghurts, fruit, breads. The hotel staff was nice, they even provided a tea kettle for us when I asked. That was a really nice touch. A huge advantage of this hotel is that they are a part of the Sommercard program, and give you Sommercards, which are plastic cards with your names and the dates of your stay on them. These cards give you free access to all local buses and 1 round trip on a cable car of your choosing per day, which is super great value. We got back more than half of our hotel stay cost thanks to this. The cards are valid throughout your stay (after 1 pm on the day of arrival, and the whole day on the day of departure).

United StatesWe enjoyed everything about the hotel.
We really enjoyed our one-night stay at this great hotel, so much so that when we were in Schladming again two nights later we booked again. The rooms, while a bit small, are clean and comfortable and have everything you need for a short stay. The staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful, especially Barbara. When we left our sunglasses behind in the room she called and emailed us to let us know so we could retrieve them. We can't recommend this hotel enough!

United KingdomMy only criticisms are that the heating throughout is ridiculously and unnecessarily hot and that the hotel lets itself down by not having a bar. The receptionist will serve you a drink in the lounge, but it's not like she's a waitress, and it seems like it's a bit of a favour if she does or you're imposing if you ask. Daytimes in the hotel are not great if, like me, you are sporting an injury preventing you from going skiing or visiting town. There is no bar, the restaurant is closed, the spa doesn't open until 2:30pm. Watching Netflix on your iPad in the sparse and rather unwelcoming lounge area by reception is your only option. You can't even cast your iPad on to the TV in the room. No Netflix, no YouTube, just German TV or the BBC world news. They scrimped a bit on that aspect, which by today's standards in hotels is pretty poor.
Really nicely appointed rooms, modern and clean. All the staff are so friendly and helpful and the food is great with a very good breakfast buffet and evening meals are really good. The wellness spa is nice, but has just a sauna and some infra-red chairs, no steam room, though has a very nice and calming relaxation area.

United KingdomLeaving it!
It’s positioned a perfect location for access to skiing facilities. The staff, all the staff were wonderful, caring accommodating and genuinely nice people. The hotel is well equipped - spotlessly clean and well maintained. Bedrooms were well thought out, set up with quality furniture and the most comfortable beds you could find.
