Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. We had to check that we were parking in the right area as the wording didn't match so maybe send a photo with the instructions for arrival???
It was ideally located to visit family who lived a 5 minute walk away. We're regular visitors to Bad Ischl and this is by far the nicest apartment we've stayed in, well equipped, clean and comfortable.

Unfortunately we arrived in the evening when an event was taking place and many streets were blocked off so we had a lot of trouble accessing our location. Advice would be to check if any local events are happening.
The apartment was very clean and it was nice having an elevator. It was very warm inside and a good location to stay that is close to Hallstatt. The communication with host was very good. Friendly neighbour showed us where to park. Apartment was great and we appreciated having a washing machine.

The place is not in the downtown so a car is needed if you need to explore or have dinner in downtown. No clothes dryer. And the clothes are not easy to be dried within 2 days in the balcony (we traveled in November. Not clean really we found an ate ice cream in fridge while we first stay.
A very quiet place. Easy check in. Can cook in the house.

Good location, walkable to city. Nice apartment with fully equipped kitchen, we had everything we needed. The apartment was at ground floor which is not a problem for disable people using wheelchair to stay here. Awesome view from the terrace. For those who drive the car to this apartment, you wont have problem to find parking space. The host was very nice and friendly. The instruction how to reach the apartment with some photos given to us made it easy for us to find the apartment.

Just net curtains for user of sofa bed towels small and old, but clean pillows very hard and only 2 furniture bit cheap looking. has the appearance of a let's invest the absolute minimum type of property.

Can’t say anything I didn’t like so wonderful.
Awesome view, very clean, comfortable beds. The host was very responsive and there was free parking! Just a short walk to the city center. Very quiet area. Would recommend to all!

The accommodation was more spacious and cleaner than expected. The large windows were a nice touch, and the kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals. The staff was also very friendly. We were a group of eight, split into two units, and everyone was satisfied with the stay—no inconveniences at all. On the last day, we needed to call a taxi for our departure, and the staff was incredibly helpful, even waiting with us in the very hot weather until the taxi arrived. We were really grateful for that.

No air con so very hot- but 1 fan provided which helped in 1 room. It was clearly stated no air con so not a criticism. Also was informed about noisy reconstruction work- this was not hosts fault. I would recommend the appartment

The establishment is large with a twin bed and the sofa bed is large enough to accommodate two people. There is a balcony which can outlook the scene. The room is clean and cozy with complete facilities. We can use the kitchen and it is equipped with microwave, oven, and other cooking stuff.

Had some initial communication issues but once that was resolved the host was responsive. No laundry in ground floor unit.
Beautiful view. Comfortable and clean. Very close to conference venue. Lots of light. Will book again.

google shows incorrect way to the apartment, so had to look for the way just by looking at roads, a route map will be very helpful.
amazing apartment, it was so good that we were questioning that should we leave the rooms or just enjot the hotel. Views were amazing and it had all the comforts. The Apartment was spotless and couldnt have thought of anything better. Laura was extremly kind and very helpful host.
