Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The staff was so friendly. He took our luggage upstairs and made sure we were good at all times. Minutes from the central train station. And breakfast was amazing.

Easy walk from Salzburg Hbf (<10 min), easy and efficient check-in with professional staff. Good sized room, exceptionally clean, with all ammenities needed. Easy walk to city center. Breakfast was great in a very clean and well tended breakfast room. Checkout was easy and imformative about travel options as we continued our journey. Overall, very good lodging and we will return! Note: there is currently construction occuring at neighboring building, so there is some noise and groinds are somewhat messy, but we looked beyond that and accept that as just temporary.

Pillows might be better.
Room is very clean and cosy and breakfast is really delicious. Bed was really comfortable. The owner is very attentive.

The bathroom is on the second floor and has no door or screen. More suitable for couples

The staff are super friendly and beyond helpful. The breakfast was good and there was continual restocking. The staff are very attentive and happy to help with requests. The room was quiet and had a beautiful view of the alps. There is a bus stop just outside the hotel which makes travelling into old town super easy. It has a great location close to the train station, an easy 5 minute walk.

Our rooms were a little bit small, but we used it only for sleeping so it is not a big deal. There was only one receptacle (plug) in our room. We could not charge our phones at the same time.
The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was varied and amazing!!! The train station is in 5-7 minutes walk from the accommodation. The city centre is in 20-25 minutes walk but you can use buses and trolley buses without any trouble.

No complaints, ok let’s say the number of german language tv programs is an absolute overkill, but that was to be expected in a german speaking country, everything is synchronized.
Everything was just perfect. Spacious rooms, breakfast, friendly and cooperative staff, price, location… couldn’t be better

The front road of the hotel need to paving and improve for customer carry luggage easier.

A room was super nice and clean, with outstandingly comfortable beds and sheets. The staff was also very kind and breakfast was great as well. The beds were a eleven out of ten.

Close to the station, Busstop across the road to reach the Salzburg Altstadt. Wonderful breakfast with a great choice of local bread and other homemade food.

I would have liked a few more tiny shelves around the room. Also a small platform or holder in the shower for personal items would have been great. Currently no walkway to the front door just gravel stones, this is expected to be fixed in the future.
Super helpful staff. Provided an extra blanket when I needed one. The breakfast was delicious. Room was clean. Lots of hot water. Overall a wonderful experience.

If there is an option to use the EV charger in the same way as late checkin, it would have been perfect.
It was possible for late checkin. The keys are kept in the key locker and the owner is call away for help during late checkin. There was a good parking space available for minimal price and had a EV charge point, however it requires someone to be available in hotel to use the charge during late hours. Great breakfast and there is one who guided us on the food. The room was very comfortable for 2 adults and 2 kids.

I cannot comment about the hotel because there was no room available for us due to a snafu between Booking.com and the hotel management. The owner however graciously booked us to a better hotel. I would like to thank him for that even if it cost us a couple of hours running between hotels.

Arriving as we did in the fall, in the midst of an unusual warm spell, we found our room quite warm as the seasonal switch over to heating had already been made. The owner was very apologetic and took the time to explain the challenge and was investigating possible solutions. So although nothing could be done about it that night, we did feel that our concerns were heard. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
The breakfast was delicious! The room was very compact, but clean and comfortable. We also really appreciated the personal attention from the owner/manager. He gave us several helpful tips for our stay in Salzburg. He was very responsive after hours as well, when we had questions about the heating and cooling system.

Maybe more pillows, but we forgot to request those. The room we were in wouldn’t be for a romantic couple, but thankfully it worked great for traveling friends!
