It was a little noisy with the families staying above us and the noise in the hall way, this was during school holiday though and it was manageable.

Room wasn't the cleanest. Hotel is really showing its age and is not in the greatest condition. Multiple arcade games in the games room didn't work properly and were a waste of $3.
Kids loved the pool and the staff were all friendly. Restaurant was solid pub style food.

If you have mobility issues it would be wise to let them know when booking. We had a room furthest from the lift, and while peaceful, it was a bit of a hike for one in our group.
The staff at Opal Cove were exceptional. Informative without being asked at reception and in the restaurant. The room was clean and the shower hot with great pressure. Unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to use the pool due to our limited time and the weather but from what we could see the pool looked good for both laps and recreation.

Facilities looking worn out, tired, and dated. Needs updating. Restaurant dinner ok but overpriced for quality. Games room over priced and needs seats for parents if you want kids to stay supervised. Not a lot of good sun safe shade outside.

The hotel is trading off its past grandeur. It is obvious that very little money has spent on it for a very long time. The facilities are still good (particularly the pool) and we had a great time, but it’s probably only got a couple of years before a full makeover is required. Heaps of mould in the bathroom.
This is a hotel that would have been amazing in the 90s. Very large and grand, with great facilities. Has direct access to a (rough) unpatrolled beach which is really nice. Staff are very accommodating

The resort is a little run down and needs some TLC. The restaurant food is not great for the price they charge and not a lot of options. The resort is advertised as absolute beachfront however you can’t see the beach as it’s all covered by the trees which are overgrown so covers all the view. One of the staff members wanted to charge us $1 per washing detergent even though they had only provided two sachets and we were staying for 6 nights . It’s not the money however as we had already paid $6600 it was poor customer service to want to charge us for a few more detergents.
The unit was very comfortable and the amenities were great. Best thing about the resort is the pool which the kids loved.

The swim up bar needs to be open later and staffed for the hours it is advertised. I do think the breakfast could be better, like cook eggs on request, bacon was terrible until I asked for some fresh to be cooked which was done. Not sure the chef was happy about it though.
We were happy with the staff and the facilities. Location is great, just a short walk down to the beach. I like that reception is manned 24 hours!

Nothing! It was great.
Great stop over and everything you would expect from a resort. The rooms were spacious, parking was close by and the buffet breakfast at the restaurant was delicious with many gluten free options which can be rare even for bigger hotels.
