The kitchen was dirty and a smell came out from the cupboards I bought my own cup and bowl from Kmart after the 1st day.At another hostel you just put your sheets and towel into a laundry hopper instead of having to wash them yourself.

No windows in room. Bathroom was shared between 2 rooms so had to remember to take key each time to get back in to room. Also our neighbour apparently didn’t understand system so banged on door and shouted every time we used the shared bathroom.

Very clean, good kitchen and seating areas. Seemed to be set up primarily for long stay guests. Surprisingly modern and hitec for North Queensland.

I enjoyed my stay. No issues at all with the property.

I stayed at Albert's while I was in town for work at the court. Location was excellent and just across the road. Bed and showers were good, Property very clean. Not many things open in the evening and a little walk to have dinner anywhere but very central for everything during the day.

Did not know this was backpackers when booked, room was very stuffy & smelt horrible. I know it was backpackers but the smell of dope was very strong as being smoked in laundry.

Timed air conditioning that once on, could not be turned off. Even though it was brand new, it felt sterile and almost prison like. Travelling solo with a child, so to find out I was staying in a room and sharing communal space with long term guests freaked me out. They ended up being lovely but not mentioned previously. Restaurant out the front till 10pm also not my idea of ideal....only 4 rooms away from ours.

Walls were fairly thin so if other guests were noisy you would definitely hear them. Nothing earplugs wouldn't fix though and I had no issues.

Such a great hostel. Owners were friendly, beds were the comfiest I've stayed in. Facilities were great and very clean. Pizza and coffee on the attached cafe were great! Would recommend and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Price... I could rent a self-contained unit in Cairns for that price. There was no Iindividual t.v.

You could hear noise through the door from the corridor. But it wasn't that bad.

The dorm, toilet/shower and kitchen were very clean. You could see that they care about you having a good stay. The staff was really friendly and happy to help. Everything seemed new/modern. The location was 5min from the bus station away in a less crowded area.

- Hassle with the key card system (didn't bother us that much though) - Loud staff in the mornings (seemed that they forgot they run a hostel as well as a restaurant) - The kitchen wasn't super clean - There wasn't much space to eat at in the common areas

The duvets are never changed, heavy and not comfortable. Ours had stains on it... and the hostel do not provide top sheets ... The room was smelly and there were dirty things behind the bed that we could clearly see. We stayed for 3 nights and the common areas ( the kitchen and bathrooms) never got cleaned up on any of those days. We only saw someone sweep up the morning we left.

The place seemed new, kitchen is big and well furnished, it had everything we could wish for, if only it was clean.

Cheap and clean accommodation. Very little staff, no reception to check in/out. Left waiting for key to check in as no reception. All power outlets in common area not working, resulting in freezer not working

Clean, cozy, comfortable beds and quite economical. Besides the facilities, the staff are really friendly, polite, courteous and accommodating. I had a significant flight delay and the staff happily extended my check out time by a few hours or else I would’ve been left stranded at the airport.
