owner told us upon check in that he was short staffed. this was obvious by the general untidiness of the rooms inparticular dirty dishes and cups. owner also complined that one of his staff members family had been stabbed. not what you want to hear at checkin. booked 2 rooms to accommodate wife and 2 children. provided us with 2 unconnected rooms which resulted in us having to split up at night time to keep children safe, esp in light of the story about stabbings at check in. Terrible wifi.

If you have mobility problems, it might be better to take the lower level as it can be a problem getting to the upper levels as there is no lifts.

The location was great, and we had a great time there. It was very relaxing to hear the ocean when we were sitting on the balcony and through the night. It was also handy to the bowls club which was great. It is a great place to stay, and we would recommend it anyone planning on coming to Straddie!

Loved the relaxed atmosphere of the whole place - from the great hosts to the room position and ambience. Location was perfect for a 3 night stay- great view from balcony of the ocean. Easy walk to beach from private walkway. Facilities totally adequate for our stay. Definitely stay again.

Our unit had no floor coverings which we were not aware of prior to booking so it was a shock when arriving to find this.

The unit was very old, lounge old and dirty & missing pillows, carpet removed and concrete floors, no air conditioners, cleanliness looked ok on arrival but toilet was not cleaned properly and unit could have done with a good vacuum.

Comfortable bed, kitchen facilities were good. Nice balcony facing the ocean good sea breezes. Hotel in a great location. Nice management.

I was very excited for this accomodation. However we were incredibly disappointed with our 1 bedroom apartment which felt like a construction site. The flooring had been removed and was left as bare concrete with grit. As the flooring had been removed and the doors not adjusted for this there was a substantial gap underneath the apartment door allowing for a constant influx of bugs throughout the night. There was no comfortable furniture; the couch and table had been replaced with outdoor furniture. When we raised our concerns with the on-site manager we were informed the apartments are individually owned and the owner of this apartment enjoyed this style. The website pictures were a significant misrepresentation of the apartment we received and we certainly would not have paid just under 300 per night to stay here. In addition the wifi did not reach our apartment and there is very minimal phone reception at this location.

The resort certainly has some pros. The location and beach access is excellent.

The stairs were terrible When you stay in the 3rd floor and not really a view of the ocean so not worth the climb
