Only the kitchen is dirty, not enough spaces to dry dishes for the amount. Or most of people just leave them there, I’m not sure. But the cleaners are coming to clean instead.

Actually the inside looks old, but outlooks is good. And the shower pleasure is excellent. And also I had good time at the balcony that every room has.

The bunk beds were adequate and showers had unreliable hot water. The building has seen better days.

Wifi is weak. The place will look much better if they fix it up.

Luckily, we have a room that have heater. It is pretty cold. Lighting in kitchen and communal area are dim; very hard to see. They respond well to my request for a lower floor.

It wouldn't take a big effort to really improve this place. Overall, the common areas just needs to be cleaner. It would be handy to let people know that towels are not supplied. Luggage storage available, but we felt this should be more secure, although, everything was fine for our gear.

Staff helpful & responsive to queries. Bed firm & clean linen. Good storage space in rooms. Toilets & bathroom clean, but not all were working. Really helpful in returning an item left behind. Good location being only 15 minute walk from downtown. Busy with working travellers, all of whom seemed very happy with their circumstances.

Desperate need of maintenance throughout the building. Kitchen/bathrooms actively dirty. There's no lamps/lockers in the bedrooms. Photos are not current or accurate.

Interesting heritage building - a great example of early colonial architecture. The communal living room was comfortable. Rooms are large.

Stayed in the same room as 2 nights prior and there were still the same bits of rubbish on the floor (unused cigarette parts) as when we had stayed previously so the room had clearly not been cleaned in the 2 days since we’d last stayed. Could feel springs in bed. Kitchen was marginally cleaner than when last stayed but still a mess of utensils and bags. Bathrooms not particularly clean.

Upgraded to a 4 bed which was nice to have a private room as a group.

There were a few long term stayers who were quite loud (I understand arthouse can't help that) and sound passes through the walls very easily so get some good earplugs. I was on the bottom floor right by the stairs so that didn't help. The kitchen/dining room was gross, the fridges smelt terrible, lots of dirt and old food built up and every table in the dining room was always covered with crumbs.

Staff were friendly and accommodating. Living room area was great, beds were comfy and balconies were cute. Short walk to town and wifi good. Would stay again

- Uncomfortable beds, can feel virtually all the springs in the mattress - bunk beds did not feel study and you could feel each time someone moved - kitchen and dining room overflowing with trash and because so many people are sharing the space it gets quite dirty

Place is getting rundown with little money being spent on it. Out of town not so handy and not close to facilities but manageable.fit for purpose as backpacker budget place.

Communal kitchen and lounge allows a convivial experience with other guests, mostly younger backpackers
