Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe two female staff working in Julios could do with some customer service training. Their attitude was of exasperation with customers, things sermed too much trouble and tbey weren't interested in naking it the best experience. There was a similar attitude with some of the breakfast staff. Smiling was an effort.
All the reception staff were delightful.Tbey were friendly and very helpful. The pool area was wonderful, loved the views from the affinity pool. Loved the Rick Stein restaurant and again tbe staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was superb. Very comfotable bed, great balcony area with lovely views.

Our room overlooking the water was lovely, such a relaxing environment. Dinner in Cheeky Dog restaurant was fine, the space was a bit barn like, but the barramundi was cooked superbly better than the blue eye cod at Rick Steins which was overcooked. The bed was comfortable and all amenities were good. The staff were friendly and helpful, and enjoyed the welcome glasses of bubbly.

AustraliaAt Cheeky Dog around 8.45pm with only one other table occupied and their meal served, we entered and ordered a dessert. We waited too long for it to arrive given these circumstances - didn't time it but a good 20 minutes. It appeared once the waiter went to check on it for us.
Loved everything about our stay with one exception, as below

United KingdomFull english breakfast was an additional $21 on top of the $25 each so quite pricey but again excellent.
Excellent room with views straight out of balcony onto gardens and Nelson bay. Beautiful wildlife around. Even saw a baby Koala in a young tree in the gardens. Continental breakfast was excellent but an additional 25$ each. Rick Stein restaurant was excelent.

AustraliaThe parking situation could be improved. The property is situated so high up on a hill that the parking is split into 3 sections with parking at the base protected by a gate (I assume to prevent thievery as it is close to the driveway/entrance). All of the parking is unallocated meaning you have to either be lucky or fight for your spot. You cannot reserve your parking either. This was frustrating as an able bodied person so I can’t imagine what this might be like for older or less able persons. A couple of disabled spots are available at the top for those that need it. All of the parking is also unsheltered and subject to weather conditions. The danger of this was made clear after a storm on the Wednesday night of my stay by seeing the aftermath the next morning around the lower carpark where my vehicle was parked near a large tree. Broken branches, leaves and other debris was strewn across the carpark making it quite hazardous. I think given the pricing of everything, the parking situation should be more carefully considered and improvements made where possible.
I had a luxury suite for my stay and the bathtub was spectacular, the facility was clean and tidy. The staff were polite and efficient.

AustraliaFood options by the pool were overpriced. Happy hour was cancelled whilst we were there. No reason. Somebody tried to put their coffees on our bill. All sorted at reception on check out. Little freezer in room bar fridge not really freezing anything propoerly.
Breakfast without rrder was more than adequate and delicious. The coffee machine coffee included in the breakfast was very good. No need to order from behind the bar. The order menu was also available, but not necessary and not cheap. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times, though one lady on Sunday interrupted us when bumping into a friend, which was a little too eager and tone deaf on her part. Poolside was great and they were reasonably careful not allowing people to hog sunchairs and then not be there. Pool was very clean and comfortable and the mix of couples and families was good. Food choices being two restaurants and tavern was excellent. Drinks ordered done well and food was always good with what I ordered. Beach access and local walks were wonderful and romantic, fishing jetty out front also. View from room and balcony through the trees to the sunrise and bay was great. Parking on site is in high demand, but we found a spot each day or night after going out. Seems to be a pet friendly location too.
