Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

3 local guys that live there smoking crack every day in the courtyard. Creepy locals & staff on hand for 1 hr a day then leave. Check in is left to the goki app which doesnt state what bed to use so you arrive middle of the night and pick any. Anyone can walk in and take a bed and nobody would notice, no locks either. Bundaberg itself is a strange town. Only decent thing to do is the Ginger Beer tasting.
Washing machine was free. Thats about it

No staff in attendance nearly all day. THe front section was a mess.
The people staying there were very friendly. The back section was fairly clean and comfy

You could feel all the springs in the bed. The bathroom had millions of old bottles in it. The bathroom had layers of dust and grim on all shelves. The fridge was broken but the freezer worked, however it was full of old food and drinks which had spilt in there and it smelt like off fish. There was a dog in the living area, he was well behaved, but if you didn't like dogs it was quite a surprise.

Decided to stay here despite the bad comments as it was just for one night. But even for one night I would prefer to sleep under a bridge. No staff to check in or show the room. Dirty and the bed was very uncomfortable. Stayed there for 2 hours and when I saw a bed bug running next to my pillow, I decided to go sleep somewhere else.

Property was poorly maintained, staff member who checked us in was heavily intoxicated, no toilet paper in all the toilets, no lock on our bedroom door so we didn’t feel safe leaving our belongings when we went out for the day. On two occasions we returned to find people sleeping in our beds. The hostel is more like a share house so it’s a complete dump with lots of strays. I want my money back!

It's not a Backpacker hostel and there are no young people! I was almost the only girl there. There were mostly men at the age of 40 to 60. They are longterm. The hostel doesn't care if you're the only girl in your room. The kitchen and living room smelled awful. Some bathrooms were clean, some where disgusting. One room has got curtains, but mine didn't. The woman who runs the hostel trys her best, but she also woke people up at midnight and asked them about their name and how long they are staying, though they have already been there the whole day.

The TV. There should be some body there.
The kitchen was clean . The place was not cleaned daily The bath room toilet were not cleaned for all the time l was there 5 days l had to change the bath mat .No body is there at all staff ..

No staff to be seen the whole stay, the bed clothes were not clean and the pod was full of dirt. The mattress was not at all comfortable and dirty. I regret not taking pictures of the place to share as it could be a lovely spot but it was just so unclean.
The other guests were friendly but that's the only positive

Such a shame this hostel turned out to be the worse place I’ve ever stayed. First of all I have around 50 bites from bed bugs, waking up to blood on the sheets is terrible. The beds are so uncomfortable and I just felt dirty the whole time. Second of all we extended our stay to be told they booked off the beds for us. I was left without a bed for two nights because they can’t communicate with each other. Woke up to someone else being in my bed because they told them to just move my stuff. Management is shocking and just doesn’t care about the hostel at all. Thirdly, I got kicked out for supposedly badmouthing the hostel. So left me with nowhere to stay, management ignored all my calls and wouldn’t explain why I had been kicked out. I had done or said nothing wrong. I have respected this hostel and would never of been rude or disrespectful. Kitchen is always dirty, fridge is vile and the bathrooms are always dirty. Please avoid at all costs.

we had told the property about late check in, instructions for where our room was were not clear we were told we were in room 4 which on the door was actually marked room 5 so we spent nearly and hour late at night trying to figure it out until instructions arrived via message at almost midnight, no answer from the out of hours number or the hostel manager number for help and even got to other guests trying to help everyone figure out the rooms. The buildings are also not secure the front, back and bedroom doors were open and did not need a code to get in so didn’t feel safe, a drunk man was also lying in the front room when we arrived unclear if he was staying there or was able to crash there because the doors were all open and we had to try and ask him for help to find the room which was unsuccessful but a last resort, even when checking out and trying to sort baggage no staff to be found for help and felt super weird and not safe, glad it was only for one night.
the pod style dorm was good for privacy and didnt feel like there was 12 people in there, the bathrooms were decent for a hostel too

When I got there my bed (number from online confirmation email) was taken. There were no other beds except some dirty matresses without bedlinen or sheets. I didn't know where to sleep and there was no one at reception or phonenumber I could call. The next morning they told me they didn't know I was coming, even though I got several confirmation emails after booking online.
