Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The shower large head didn’t work properly. We did have trouble with the tv We did feel a bit uncomfortable with the cleaners on the driveway before 10 but they were friendly.

Only one bathroom. No ensuite available. A little inconvenient for us.
Check in information was complete and thorough. The rooms are spacious and clean. A very inviting house to live in with a great interior decor throughout. We all loved it.

It would have been handy to have an extra toilet or a toilet which isn't in the main bathroom. This is just because we were a large group of 7 people.
Great little place, very nice beds for everyone, clean, and nice living area with good heating and a large tv. Very good, thank you. Very clean.

The place is very spacious and clean. The beddings were very clean and comfortable as well. We stayed with 2 dogs and had a great time.

Great location and views but a bit far to walk to any shops.
The rooms were so spacious and the beds and couches were super comfy, the deck was gorgeous, the yard was huge with plenty of secure space for our dog.

As there is only 1 bathroom, wish that the toilet can be in separate space.
Place is very clean and nice. Very very comfortable with plenty of lighting inside at outside at the deck. Walking distance to the main road and water. Plenty of rabbits around the area.

It was the best holiday house we ever stayed in! So stylish, cosy, clean and functional. Very nice cookware, many toys and a huge TV. Our little son loved the play area outside with the little slide and the sandpit. And having a morning coffee at the deck outside was blissful 😇

Only down side was that I only booked it for 1 night!
We loved everything! I mean everything! The location, the beds, the bathroom, the garden, the deck, the host's communication. I could have stayed easily a couple of nights or more had I known upfront how much I'd love the place! The kids loved the playequipment in the backyard and we all enjoyed a nice dinner on the covered deck. The house is close to town and a couple of the must see things along the Great Ocean Road. Absolute gem this place!

Not really a con per say, but the beach and the town is a bit further away, compared to some other options in the main street. Other than that it was a grate place.
Really good facilities (recently renovated house with everything you'd need for the family), cleanliness, space, communication from the host(s).

Everting was to our liking . Jayde was the perfect host. The invoice was not explicit enough. I have mentioned this to Jayde.

Backyard is having some works completed with stairs. This area needs fencing off so toddlers/pets can’t fall. Was a little expensive for what it was, but as stated above, was all that was available to us for the night.
Super comfy lounge & bed. Split system heating worked well. Was a last minute booking for us to spend one more night on the Great Ocean Road & was the only accommodation available to allow pets as we were travelling with our diabetes blind dog.

But I didn’t dare to use any of the facilities, as there’s a book of house rules telling you what to or not to do. I guess I didn’t pay to have a job here for the night, so I decided to save myself from any potential troubles.
The place is good, apparently it’s an airbnb kinda business.

The hot water ran out after three adults finished their 10 minute showers. So the other two adults could not have hot showers. Of course we also used some hot water for rinsing the dishes but we only used a reasonable amount.
The leather sofa, the kitchen, the queen beds are comfy. The room is clean. Only a few minutes away from the main sight seeing places. It is an independent house with a big garden.
