How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Would have liked a bigger fridge and metal cutlery but to be fair it was manageable.
Quiet, clean, only 10 minute walk to tge train station and then 10 minutes into Perth.

There was nothing to complain about it beat most places I have stayed.
First impressions were wonderful peaceful setting with garden everything you need in room excellently presented. The host was a pleasant lady concerned for my comfort. It was a relaxing few days .I would definitely recommend staying at this address. When I am in Perth again I will definitely be staying there again but get in quick as I suspect it will be popular. Thanks great stay.

None of the side lamps worked and the family were quite noisy considering I had to get up at 4am. On the brochure it says they expect you back by 9pm but if I were going out that wouldn't be happening.

Couldn’t find an iron which was listed on the inclusions
Private, comfortable bed, great shower. Host provided all access details so it was easy once we got there. Great that you can park on the street and see the car from the room.

My stay at Chen’s place was fantastic! The home was exactly as described—clean, cozy, and had everything I needed. The location was ideal and the neighborhood was peaceful. Chen was very thoughtful, and I appreciated that they had printed all the important information and placed it on the table. This made my stay even more convenient, as I didn’t need to reach out for anything. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and hassle-free. While there's no laundry on-site, it wasn’t an issue for my short stay. Overall, I highly recommend this proprty for anyone looking for a comfortable and well-prepared space.

Other people within the household could be heard and there was no hot water for showering. Landlady didn't speak fluent english. Was called prior before checkout to checkout.

It’s very small. Very poor lighting made worse that the bedside lamp didn’t work and one of the room light bulbs needed replacing. The worse was that the bed sheets were dirty. We had another night booked on our way back through Perth but we decided to go elsewhere and forfeit the money for another nights stay that we had already paid for. The host was not willing to refund the other night.

It wasn’t a king room as advertised. Very narrow bathroom - shower a good size but the basin stuck out too far making it narrow and awkward to move around. Strong smell of mothballs from microwave/fridge/storeroom. Bar fridge on floor with microwave on top. No milk in fridge. Tea caddy with chamomile and green teabags only with strings terribly knotted. No coffee. Asian cooking smells in evening and morning.
Good Location, clean Ability to open windows for fresh air. Nice outlook onto courtyard facing the street, with potted plants (not a garden as advertised.)

It was quite impersonal.....apart from a short email there was no contact with the owner and quite kurt instructions as to what we had to do before leaving. The pillows were a bit hard.
It was easy to book, to find and to enter the room thank you. Lovely clean room.

It is advertised as a King Room. We expected a king sized bed. We found a standard size room with a double bed. Very disappointed We were also told to be quiet when we returned. I found this a bit rude.
