Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaUnexpected noise outside our cabin at night ( this would not be usual.. it’s generally a very quiet area).
Great location to access Cradle Mountian for day walks, and still close to other regions we wanted to visit too. Having a kitchenette and heater was great. Very pretty bush setting.

AustraliaVery accommodating host happy to share her knowledge of the Cradle Mountain area and fit in with your plans. Good decent sized well-appointed cabin with very comfy bed. Convenient location for Cradle Mountain (easy 30km - 20 mins drive). Decent cafe for breakfast which opens early (with good coffee) and can also order tasty home cooked dinners delivered to your rooms (pumpkin soup was superb) for the evenings. Wonderful to see small wallabies / pademelons grazing outside the window. For a city dweller, the night skies are superb (try to find a dark spot out of the street and Cradle Gateway lighting). Wifi was reliable and important given that reception in general in the area is poor. Note that there are no shops or anything so get snacks, drinks etc from Deloraine or Sheffield on the way in. Microwave, toaster, crockery, cutlery, basic utensils etc in the cabin so could also self cater simple breakfasts (though I ate at the cafe).

AustraliaOur only complaint was the the second morning there was no hot water. We knew the distance to Cradle Mtn Visitors Centre, but probably if we come again, we will decide to pay (a lot) more to be closer and avoid that drive. Many of the fittings (Taps etc) were shabby, but the current owners have only been there for a little while and are working hard to build up the business so I’m sure if we return in a couple of years that will have been addressed.
Peaceful surroundings. Very friendly hostess. Possibility of simple home cooked meals if ordered, and although the cafe closes at 3, our hostess could arrange food to be delivered. Comfortable bed. Wifi adequate for our needs. There is a heater in the room so we were warm and cosy. Enough plates, bowls and cutlery to self cater if you brought provisions.

United StatesIt is a drive to Cradle Mountain. The 20 minutes in the morning isn't bad, but in the dark feels a bit treacherous with all the wildlife.
Our rooms were quite comfy. Very basic kitchenette, and that was fine. Very quiet. Felt quite rural. Hosts were very helpful and accommodating. Food was surprisingly good. Definitely would recommend getting lunch/dinner from them.

AustraliaNot much nearby.
The owners are very friendly and helpful. The room had all the basic necessities. They had a good room heater and an electric blanket for the bed. They are located about 30 minutes drive from Cradle Mountain National Park. The wallabies shown were outside the rooms window. The other photos are from Cradle Mountain.

AustraliaNone were dealbreakers but just for future guest's information: - Through no fault of the property there's like no convenient stores nearby and mobile phone reception is very limited (as you would find in many remote areas of tasmania but telstra was fine for basic browsing and calls). - I think most of the rooms are actually all joined by separate walls connected overall as one whole building, separated by the staff laundry in the middle? So just be mindful of the noise. Thankfully when I stayed there was only one other group staying on the opposite side of our cabin - The bright light outside the room peers right through the cheap roller blind gaps (non blockout) with no switch to turn it off. I think it's for the car parking spot but if you're a bit sensitive to light at night this may be annoying to some as in my room it literally shone through lounge area overlooking the bed - Random ugly black cheap shag carpet in the middle of the room, I wondered what it was covering up if any? Or just the really old scruffy carpet (it's clean but just very old and dirty looking being in the wilderness). - No kitchen onsite to cook anything other than in room microwave and kettle. I think there was a basic toaster too (but they offer good and affordable food options to make up for this)
+ Easy to spot at night, it's right on the main road out of the area. Super super quiet area so when something goes past it can unfortunately sound louder than it probably is (especially trucks and loud motorbikes) + Super communicative and helpful host (Anita was great and responded within a reasonable time - relatively quickly usually) + Cabins as clean as can be when considering where they are so no real complaints, it's an old building so also expect some creaky floors. Yes there were cobwebs in places but not a real issue for me personally. + Hot water and mini bathtub after a long day was relaxing + Basic heater and electric blankets (although I stayed in summer so it wasn't an issue) + Kettle and microwave some basic bowls and washing up equipment to clean up after your stay + Iron and hairdryer + Satellite TV (not that I watched it but when I turned it on out of curiosity the reception seemed pretty good) + Cradle NP area is pretty expensive last minute so the 20-30min drive was fine for me to the property, the awesome cafe making real coffee at reasonable prices made up for it!!

New ZealandThe carpet could do with a good vacuum and the less utilised areas such as window sills with a good clean.
The studio was very spacious and well equipped. The bathroom had a bathtub and shower pressure was great. The decor was very pleasant and it made it feel like a true mountain chalet. Food was available for in house guests even when the café was closed.

AustraliaInformation about catering. I was informed that I would need to self cater unless I wanted to book into a restaurant which would require driving at night. On arrival the owner told me that she could provide dinners and breakfast but I already had purchased supplies by this time.
