Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe rooms were small and cramped, the fridge was noisy. The rooms have a sliding door to the porch used by everyone, but no window. So at night you cannot leave the door open to get fresh air. The porch has a common kitchen, so it can get noisy and does not feel private at all. Fine for one night stopover but I wouldn't stay for a holiday.
The property is close to the boat ramp where some of the nature cruises take of from. The views of the river are nice too.

United StatesCooking facilities poor- nonstick pans all scratched up so you end up eating teflon...No nonmetallic spatula or spoons to use with pans. Staff finally gave me one but I had to sign my life away for it. No Wifi. No dinner available at nearby cafe on days I was there and staff did not tell me that there was another place to eat.
Convenient to river cruise i was taking the next day.

AustraliaA bit run down but clean.
This an old property with a wonderful location. Just next to the boat ramp where the amazing boat bird tours leave. So a very practical location for an early morning start. The hotel opposite which serves meals was closed whilst we were there which meant some guests were unaware and hadn’t self catered. Fortunately for us we were able to reserve a table at the Eco Lodge 3kms away which has a wonderful setting and delicious food.

AustraliaOnly that we didn't make the time to stay longer.
The overall experience of staying at the Daintree Riverview Lodges is one you have to experience to fully appreciate. It's quiet, with beautiful scenery, basic but perfectly suited rooms to the area, with tea & coffee making facilities, towels and soap, & a mini fridge in your room. The restaurant over the road served yummy food and catered for a variety of dietary needs. It was perfect.

New ZealandLeaving, would have liked another week at least. But we were time, poor
Absolutely loved this place. Tonya the host was super. She was a mine of information. We enjoyed eating with other guests on the expansive balcony. Just across the road was an awesome village pub that served incredible food. The birdlife at the Daintree Village is fabulous. Its not too far from the car ferry to Cape Tribulation and about 30 minutes from the famous Mossman Gorge. Thats a must visit.

United KingdomNo where to put your clothes other than 4 hooks with hangers, needs some shelves or draws. Small fridge, not really suitable for self-catering. The freezer compartment needed defrosting and had 3 inches of ice, so any food placed near the ice box froze. The shared kitchen wasn't a kitchen but more of a prep area with a toaster and a kettle.
Veranda overlooking the river. Ideal for wildlife river cruise. Decent large shower. Lots of cups and plates provided. The preparation area was very clean

AustraliaSimilar to what's already been said; The floor behind the bed needs a decent vaccum, the water from the shower leaks through the tiles onto the floor, the kitchen facilities didn't have the basic utensils (i.e. kitchen knife, spatula & tongs), no soundproofing so any earlybird adventurers making moves in the wee hours can be heard walking up and down the veranda and using the outdoor kitchen, mould in the fridge, a section of the veranda dips when you walk on it (which is covered by matting so it must be known).
It's a good location with a lovely view. It's right next to one of the river cruise docking points.

Canada1. On arrival, between 16:00-17:00, found no-one at reception, but a notice on the door to call number if no-one there. This is not acceptable because one may not have a cellphone - fortunately I had a local SIM card. 2. Contrary to expectations, the lodges do not have their own parking - one has to park in the street outside and carry stuff across a patch of grass and a deck shared with all the other lodges. This is inconvenient if one wants to repack stuff during a trip. 3. The room was ok but the only housekeeping thing actually IN the room was a fridge. Not even a kettle. All the cooking facilities are on an outside deck and shared with the other lodges. Again inconvenient and not what one would expect at this price. So while the Booking Confirmation from Booking.com states all the features that exist, it does not make clear that they are SHARED and not contained within each unit. I found this misleading; it was not what I expected, because most cabins in the Cairns/Atherton area are self-contained.
Location is v convenient for Daintree R boat trips.

AustraliaNo wifi at all, no tv and the floor was dirty. Behind the bed was putrid as I discovered when trying to plug in my charger. Everything is very dated.
The proximity to the Daintree river and Cape Trib is great. The diversity of people coming and going was interesting for meeting people

United KingdomStayed several times previously aand the best attraction was the view and eating area. This is no longer an option, but you get a dorm room with a filthy shared two ring electric plate and a microwave. Do not bother to stay.

AustraliaRooms were very dirty, dusty, visibly not cleaned properly for years. No TV, no wardrobe, just a few hooks on walls with coat hangers on them. Thin floors that creaked loudly so you could hear people stomping around rooms next to you. Think the bed had dust mites as we were very itchy. The ladies next door to us said the same thing. Was very disappointed. I could see by internet pictures that the place was old but it looked clean on pictures. Would get shut down if health inspectors checked it out.
The location was OK. Not much around, old pub had dinners but wasn't always open, chalkboard sign outside with opening times, then it didn't open at all.
