Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaA map of the island might be helpful , rather than just a digital map
Staff were so lovely and accommodating when I accidentally left some items behind - they kindly transported them back on the ferry

New ZealandThe food isn’t the same standard as Hamilton Island. Some things were done really well. It was very hard to find healthy choices with the two restaurants. Lots of fried food at the Asian restaurant (Infinity). Pizza, hamburgers and chips at Salti’s.
Great location and activities. Wonderful staff. The living reef snorkel was an unexpected highlight!

AustraliaPrices, it is a remote location and with that comes additional costs. Make sure you allow for this in your budget because everything will cost you more, small example a bottle was water was $6. It a beautiful place and absolutely worth visiting just do your research before you book :)
Beautiful location the perfect place to unwind, relax and do nothing. Highlight is the wildlife and stunning views.

AustraliaThe breakfast was good, but for me the only problem is the diversity of the breakfast. I would say on the last day I started to get bored with the breakfast because it is always the same everyday. Most of resorts would change the breakfast every day or every 2 days so people don't get bored with it. The staff were really caring and very nice to talk to. I would say that, for the price (value for money) I would have expected an elevated experience compared to what I did. E.g. the barefoot bar, was okay, but needed more staff to cope with the amount of people waiting to order drinks - and there were not a big variaty of drinks. Also near the pool, would have been insteresting a QR code to order drinks and a waiter or waitress deliver the drink for you at the pool - this is what I mean by value for money. Another thing is - some of the activities were only possible to do on specific days, which is fine - but I think the variaty of ativities could be increased so guests are able to do more of the activities if they want and split the queue for those. E.g. There are only one activity per time slot - instead of for example, 2 different activities at the same time. This would give guests more options to do things and potentially enjoy the resort even more with more options. I couldn't do the Sailing activity, as there were only 2 boats, and many people to do it (and classes were only on weekends). Last but not least is the location - while it is in a very seclude location where you can enjoy the peaceful island, it is hard to get to the region activities (you need to keep booking the ferry to the continent or to Hamilton Island) to go to the external activities, and there are limited time slots that the ferry goes to the island - so you need to keep in mind the extra cost of the ferry and the limited time slots to go back and from the island.
I like that is very calm and isolated place - you can enjoy the island and chill. There are a lot of activities you can do during your stay and the staff are very caring to your well being. I loved that we got a very warm welcome and directions when we arrived at the resort. Infinity Restaurant was delicious.

AustraliaWe weren't advised that one part of Daydream was out of action and the food was extremely expensive in the restaurants. If they had some simpler options ie a standard fish n chips etc, that would have been fantastic. $66 for reef fish n chips is over the top and some nights, no fish at all.
What a wonderful part of the world. The view over the beautiful Whitsunday Islands was second to none. The buffet breakfast was brilliant.

AustraliaNeed more food options for quick lunches - eg sell pre-made wraps at tonic or barefoot bar. Think about where people are placed accomodation wise e.g had a pram so it was quite confusing to get to room, had to go up a level, change lift and then down a level.
We loved the living reef, the food at infinity and the fact that it’s the whole island!

AustraliaFood is overpriced. I wish the quality meet the price then I wouldn’t have minded so much. Only 2 dinner restaurants on the island and the other half of the island was closed for maintenance.
Proper island vibes. Lots to do inside and outside. Living reef is beautiful and a great view from every room. Snorkeling at Lovers cove was small but lots of fish to see. Sunset at lovers cove was beautiful. Get involved with the trivia and bingo as it’s a great way to meet other people staying on the island. Bring your own snacks and drinks to save some money.

AustraliaFacilities are lovely but in some areas somewhat dated. Check-in took a long time, and while we realise check-in is mid-afternoon, to enable rooms to be cleaned, we were booked onto a ferry arriving mid-morning and had a long, humid wait. Accessing services and food/drink was a little hit and miss during this time because most operate on a room number booking process. Once we were checked in, the experience was very positive (bar the usual limited access to lounges poolside because many guests reserve them early with towels etc and then don't necessarily stay and utilise the space).
Location is beautiful and service was great. The food experience was terrific, from what was on offer at the buffet breakfast, to the fine dining provided at the restaurants. The premises is nice but is clearly still being upgraded (and in need of upgrading and updating). The resort end of the island is lovely, but it was a shame that the other end, where additional pool facilities and activities are located were not all operational.

AustraliaMinor thing. The shops were very low in stock, limited sizes styles of clothing. Snorkelling was great at Lovers Cove however the equipment was in short supply sometimes. Please spend a few $ to buy a few more snorkels and fins.

AustraliaThe end of the island that caters for water sports had the pool closed for resurfacing so it was green and fenced off. The buildings in that area are also boarded up. Assuming it may have been a result of the cyclone years ago and hasn’t had a chance to be fixed yet. The dinner food at Graze restaurant wasn’t great
Our room was clean, modern and situated above the aquarium which was perfect for our daughter. The mains pools were great and the underwater aquarium was a lot of fun! Infinity & Salti restaurants had delicious food and great views. Lovers cove was the perfect spot for sunset
