Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe first time I stayed with DCH I paid a similar price for the room (?$120) and got a small single bedroom unit. The photos advertised when I booked the room were not an accurate reflection of the room itself. This time the room was so small it felt as if I was in a backpackers room. I kept whacking my leg on the bed while trying to walk around it. The shower barely worked - it was forced to be angled in the worst direction because the shower was so small, and was either boiling or freezing (took 10mins to heat up and then I couldn’t add enough cold water to bare it). I asked the desk lady what other rooms were available but there were none a reasonable size in a reasonable price range (around $200/250, the next reasonable sized room was almost $400 for the night). I ended up checking out of DCH after finding a really nice, modern, large room with a balcony at the Mantra Hotel for less than $150/night.
The lady on the desk was polite.

AustraliaThe hallway smelt of raw sewage or faeces. Not the first time I’ve stayed there where this has been the case. Though one other time it didn’t smell so.
Room was extremely clean and aircon worked incredibly well

AustraliaThere were pubic hairs all over the bathroom door. The pillow smelt as did the room. We had problems with our key card and had to ask someone who was staying there to let us out to get dinner and had to get that rectified before we could get back in. I kicked my toe on the pointy broken shower door slide thing and cut myself. I covered the corner with the towel provided to keep from hurting myself again. The bathroom was a bit squashy and made avoiding the shower slide thing difficult
It was a convenient location

AustraliaThe room servicing was weird and inconsistent. For that standard and price, I'd expect once a week or every few days at the most. Instead, I was woken on the first morning (second day) by housekeeping wanting to know if I needed new towels. Then it was all different times from 10am to 4pm. The sheets got changed on the eighth day and then weirdly the 11th day. The hallways are very noisy and I didn't enjoy the renovations and slamming doors.
Decent, basic accommodation and OK if you're planning to use it as a base for doing stuff out and about and not spending too much time in your room.

AustraliaMy bathroom was moudly and not clean. The shower also leaked. I had to buy bug spray to get kill cockroaches and their babies. The bedding was foul. The sheets didn’t seem clean and the doona definitely wasn’t with blood stains and no cover. I ended up buying own bedding. There were loud workers all day. I’m the was not pre warned and I worked nights. Security was also poor. The contractors often had the main door wide open and then building main doors don’t self close properly. There was a many a time I didn’t need my key to get to my room.

AustraliaThe fact that it’s called DCH on Mitchell, yet you can’t even access Mitchell Street from the motel.. The room didn’t even have a blanket, just a flat sheet to cover up with. The pillows were cheap ass pillows with basically no filling in it. So uncomfortable it was like laying on a bed with no pillow.. The aircon took soooo long to get started.. temp had to be room temp just for air circulation as I didn’t have a blanket to cover up with.. Never again will I book a room at DCH on Mitchell waste if $129

United KingdomBuilding was mid construction and just felt like you were walking through a building site the whole time, very noisy with construction noise plus local traffic address was difficult to find, room and bathroom weren't particularly clean, steps up into different parts of the building were difficult with luggage, won't be returning.
Beds were comfy, let me store luggage on my last day

AustraliaAll of the above!
I was very disappointed, only managed 2-4 hours broken sleep EVERY night due to loud music, people arguing , banging , trying to get into the building ( I was too scared to go out my door in the night), girls screaming outside, what sounded like a car hanging wheelies . I was so tired by the time I flew home, i could hardly think straight. Receiption staff need customer service training, how to welcome clients when they arrive, asking how clients slept when they come to reception the next morning and at the end of their stay, enquire did they have a pleasant experience overall and are there any improvement suggestions. My room , bathroom was not cleaned properly, floor tiles need re-grouting . The water supply in the shower and mattress really good. The mattress protector had big yellow stains which could have been removed if the linen was soaked for 2 days in Vanish stain remover. . Linen needs to be assessed on a regular basis by the Head house maid. If the linen looks to shabby, it should be replaced. Hiding it under a sheet is a receipe for disaster. As you can see, I found the stain! Cleaning staff need extra training to provide a polished finish. I used to house maid when I was in my 30's so I know how to produce a high standard. My hair driers internal heater, shot out a red burst and then out, looked like I'd get electrocuted if I used it. My friend who stayed in room, 75, was cold one night as there was no blanket, her TV was not set on the regular TV program and her room was also not clean. I would not stay at DCH again nor recommend it!

AustraliaPlace was dirty - hit and miss on getting your room made up (one day happened another day didn't) - front desk didn't seem to care or interested in doing anything about this.
Difficult to find and spread over a number of buildings... a bit of a nightmare. Location was good though. The gym is actually an external CLUB LIME which was good.

AustraliaInstead of Darwin City Hotel main building, they gave us a room in Darwin YHA. It was terrible and even room was crap. The bathroom doesnt even had a toilet paper stand or place to put toilet paper. The room was terribly small and had just beds and even beds were 2 single instead of queen. I was extremely disappointed with that. Misleading information, showed different room and building in ad and gave totally different one.
