Breakfast isn’t included, but we have a kitchen and fridges. We cook, order food, or go to nearby places like Coles, McDonald's, or Subway. If it’s farther, delivery is usually an option. Be sure to change cash in Melbourne or Sydney before arriving. The atmosphere here is fantastic, with plenty of friendly people to talk to at any time of day. I’ve made many new friends, and the hostel is especially good at this time of year

I reached at 9:51PM and gate was closed. Due to that I was unable to park my vehicle inside the building which irritates me alot. And I parked my vehicle in open street...... Should provide some facility by providing number on gate, if someone coming late can call and ask them to open gate for guests would be the better! Thanks

When was the last time the bathroom was deep cleaned ? See pictures A lot of long stays. Room was stuffed, same with the fridges.

Lack of storage areas for each person. Lockers were small and unallocated meaning not every person had access to a locker. Lack of power points and independent lights. The bed was very uncomfortable - I could feel the springs!

Very noisy, the cleanliness in the kitchen was below par and the smoke from the smokers out back entered the bedrooms.

It was a bit annoying that I couldn’t get in even though I wasn’t late at all. Make sure to read your emails. I didn’t get the late check in mail though and was a bit annoyed. was ok for a night but didn’t feel quite comfortable

Kitchen was really dirty, sometimes there wasn‘t even a tea towel to dry anything. Almost no space in the fridges.

Cleaning/maintenance could be improved. Not enough shower/bathroom. Only 1 laundry machine and 1 dryer (others are broken). Kitchen is pretty small, not much room in fridges to stock fresh food.

Proximity to shops, the hill, the beach. Staff were really nice, atmosphere is nice as well

I booked a bed in a 8-bed dormitory, with AC and fan. The dormitory is wide and large enough, so you do not feel packed at all. The bed is a bunk bed, large enough, with a fair enough good mattress. For this dorm (and the entire hostel), you have access to 3 full bathrooms (shower, toilet, sink), 4 showers, 4 toilets, 4 sinks. All were clean. You also have access to a fully equipped kitchen from 7am to 10pm. The common space is nice. The WiFi is good. Coles supermarket next door. 200m away from the coastal beach walk. 1km away from the main center. 1.6km away from SeaLink Ferry Terminal / Greyhound / Premier Motor Service bus stop. With regards to the staff, I was welcomed by Valerio, who is super nice and very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for a short or a long stay.

Was really unclean, grime and dust everywhere. Even clean towels had stains and like residue on them. Bunks were removed on last day from our room to accommodate other guests so we decided to move the couch to face the TV and there was weeks old coke spilt all under the couch with McDonalds wrappers stuck in it, we literally spend 20 mins cleaning it up. The hand soap was empty upon arrival with an empty bottle of something in the shower. We had to buy hand soap, cleaning wipes and air freshner from Coles to make the room liveable.

Great location, really close to the the strand and the city. Coles and McDonalds right next door really handy. Good accessibility to parking.

The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The mattress was so thin and the bed frame dug into my body. It also squeaked so loud at any movement

The beds were very noisy, every time you moved the bunk beds creaked so it was quite hard to get to sleep. There was lots of partying until early hours of the morning, and we also didn't meet a single member of staff while we were there.

Dirtiest hostel I’ve ever been in Australia. I think owing to understaffing or volunteer staff don’t really know how to clean. Don’t like carpet in room.

Keira, the part time manager, was really nice and the best part of my stay. she helped me with all my inquiries, and booked me a taxi, which is hard to come by in Townsville, to the train station. Upper lounge area was really spacious and nice. Kitchen tidied up twice a day.

The kitchen was dirty and full of flies. There are only a couple of bathrooms in each floor, which seems not enough for the number of people at the hostel. Additionally, there are alot of people at the hostel who are working in the area, so it’s not particularly sociable for a solo traveller.

The rooms are comfortable, mine was equipped with a mini fridge. Big communal area with sofas and tables.
