AustraliaExtra towels and soaps etc would have been nice (given we were three adults sharing the room). I feel that this is important for guests to have adequate amenities to support their stay. Also, the water in the lobby needed refreshing throughout our stay... having staff address this would have been a nice touch.
Loved the welcome cookie on check-in - the rooms were comfortable and the smart tv was a nice addition. The beds were excellent, as were the pillows. The wifi was strong throughout our stay. The resort itself was clean and comfortable. Parking is extremely reasonable at only $10 a night (excellent value when compared with what other hotels are charging). Really enjoyed our stay. This is our second visit to DoubleTree in Cairns and would absolutely return again.

AustraliaThe few things that I didn't like was that the room I booked for two people was more of a room for a single person who was only there for a night or two on a business trip or something. I was hoping to get more amenities like a tiny kitchen or something since we were there for a week. We were provided with coffee and milk and tea and a kettle which was great but we had to make our coffees on the TV unit as it was the only place we could. Would have liked the room to be more suited to a couple. Like a bigger bathroom and shower. Only one of us could fit in the bathroom at a time which got annoying . Maybe I didn't book it properly or choose the right room but would have preferred something a bit bigger for the both of us. When I booked on this website I assumed all the rooms had balconies but ours unfortunately didn't. The room also had small tiny insects crawling around. Not quite sure what they were but was kind of unhygienic. Also, for how much we paid we definitely should have gotten breakfast included on one of the days we were there but that's just my opinion. It's a great hotel, but I wouldn't say it's exceptional. The lobby looks very modern, stunning and fancy but the rooms didn't quite match that vibe. All the furniture including the bathroom looked a lot older.
The hotel itself is in a great spot in the CBD. Walking distance from the esplanade and to all the main food and shopping. The hotel is also nice and the staff are fantastic. Their customer service is great and they checked in regularly to make sure we were comfortable. They even ordered a taxi for me and my partner so we could get to the airport. The rooms also get cleaned each day so it was nice to come back to freshly made beds and clean towels. Also the pool was awesome and we loved the fact that you could order drinks in the pool area and drink them whilst in the pool or spa. You could also order small servings of food from the bar to enjoy. Was awesome. Also, if you're doing any down under tours or any exploration, the DoubleTree is included in their list of pickup locations so you don't even need a hire car really, which was another bonus. :) We both enjoyed the stay, but I think my expectations were a little higher 😆

AustraliaNoise coming from the street, the RSL with deliveries and rubbish trucks. But the biggest noise maker and the most annoying was the helicopters. They just never stopped during the day.
Great location, walking distance to everything. The room was pleasant with good outlook. Bathroom was of good size for a single person.

Full buffet was fine. Fresh fruits very nice and service was very good. Bed was very comfortable. View wasn't bad considering hotel is a block back from the sea.

Location of our room was perfect , loved the nice big sunny balcony. View was superb 😊 The overall design of hotel was different ,I liked the way that all ? rooms had a view . The twin beds were very comfy. Check in was easy, we were informed that staff were training so we were aware. Well done. Liked the taxi button on reception desk to hail a taxi.

Australiathe only issue was the room service menu, needs a few items on their, like chicken Parmaigan, pasta meals, Poached eggs on toast, pizza, apple crumble, just to name a few of the go too, the breakfast menu needs to be clearer, option A cereal with option B toast with which spreads ( non were listed) but I did get what I requested 😊
