Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Room needs to have a spring clean although everything was fine and comfortable you don't get to do the deep cleaning in such a short time the cleaners have to do rooms, we hope the cleaners got the tip we left for them
Loved the location, loved the rainforest in the centre of hotel, staff so very friendly and helpful nothing too much trouble Will definitely be staying here every time we are in Cairns within walking distance of everything

Slightly on the expensive side. Paying for the breakfast option would have made it very expensive.

There is no lounge bar within the hotel. Week of helicopter crash. Pool out of commission ‘until further notice’ Very poor communication The staff did not contact us even though we were due to arrive within 1 week of the crash. We had to ring the day before to find out our stay wasn’t affected and ASK on arrival about the pool (bear in mind you can’t swim in the sea in Cairns.) Told we could use facilities in Hilton “5-10 minute walk away”. More a 20 min walk away. And no courtesy bus. Then the pool was reopened but there was no announcement - we just noticed on our last night that there were people in the pool. When we questioned about this we were told ‘they’d taken down the paper notice on the pool gate’ - inferring we were meant to go to the pool to check each day REALLY?
Lovely chain, beautiful location, sea view room 523, Service staff - maids, dining room waitresses, were lovely. Beautiful courtyard gardens.

The fact that the pool was closed due to helicopter accident and that there was no compensation for that and maybe complimentary breakfast should have been offered. My room was not cleaned properly and there was always something missing in the bathroom. Bath mat one day no washers another and coffee and tea not always replenished.

The pillows.
Lovely stay. Friendly, helpful staff. Great room with beautiful sea view. Pillows need replacing in the room we stayed as they were quite flat. Otherwise, this hotel is perfectly located and would stay again.

The morning staff at the reception desk were rude and unprofessional. We were denied our request for bath towels, which was promised by the evening staff, when we checked in the day before.

No signage for lifts , help with luggage when arriving ,door from reception towards vine restaurant not automatic opening. We needed to assist person in wheelchair with door, unable to open door and manage chair without help .

Whilst bathroom and main surfaces were very clean, no one had looked under the bed for a while. Found dropped food there. Wardrobe door was a bit difficult to open.

Pool area was clean but seamed neglected Tiling was poor Spa would work intermittently Towels and linen were not completely replaced Coffee machine deliver halfway during our stay Request made to front desk for additional blankets and pillows made 3 times throughout the day before receiving them Towels not always available at the pool.
